  Of course the targeting call was the main bitch. There were posts that the PAC-12 refs obviously wanted Utah to win the game. (Don’t muddy the waters by pointing out that the referee was MAC referee Tom Stapleton & his crew)
  
  The second line of complaint was that Utah was holding on EVERY SINGLE PLAY and getting away with it every time. Then Dan Sorenson tweeted this little gem. My only thought is that they must have researched how to be a fan of a team playing Utah by reading cougarboard.com.

  The ones that visited this site seemed very confident in an upset.
  
  Also don’t point out how Utah didn’t play three starters.

  The targeting call was absolutely the correct call. Their defender loaded up and led with his helmet directly into the head of Thompson. That’s why he dropped the ball after being hit. You can tell on the replay because his head suddenly violently moved upon contact. That’s the type of hit that causes a concussion.

  Technically it was targeting since the helmets collided. But there was little the NIU defender could do. He went in low, below the level of the Utah player’s head. Then the Utah player lowered his helmet right into the hit.
