Looks like Helton's choice for QB is Browne. Seems to be a political move.

All I know is that I hope the move ensures that they lose to us and finish below us. They are welcome to beat UCLA for us though.

I won’t be surprised if they throw Browne to the wolves against Bama & then use it as justification to play Darnold. Ensuring they have a solid backup QB in Browne for the season.

Reports are that Browne stares down his receivers and telegraphs his pass, thus the interceptions. He’s a pro style pocket passer, so he needs game experience for the game to slow down. For some, it never slows down. He’ll get a game or two, but will get yanked if the INTs start to take their toll. I liken him to a Jake Heaps 5 star that might not translate to the next level.

Utah offered Darnold. They wanted him badly.

Browne has graduated. He could transfer. Could fill the 3rd string position at Utah. Maybe Stevi could talk him into that?

in other minimally related news, Max Wittek (insanely hyped former USC recruit, who transferred to Hawaii and struggled) is getting NFL reps. Went 1 for 8 for 20 yards and a pick. Teams are really scraping the bottom of the barrel at QB these days.

I know a 6’7″ QB who slings sidearm bullets off his back foot. He just doesn’t know where the passes are going beyond 10 yards, so you need to issue helmets to the cheerleaders. He’s currently playing down in Australia.
