Is he too small? As a 4 year starter at NB I thought he might get picked.

I couldn’t tell you the deficiencies other than maybe too small. I can tell you he was a true junior last year and did not start for four years at Utah though.

Ok, would have been a 4 year starter if he didn’t leave early.

So why leave early and not get drafted?

im not sure he had much left to grow here. Plus his entire position group as well as half the team was going to the NFL. He wanted to go with them. If he went undrafted this year im not sure he doesnt go undrafted now a year older. Most of his development seemed to come freshman year. It also shows how wildly overrated combine narratives can be

I think he can stick at the next level

He’s short and can’t catch and struggles with play recognition.

He could have come back but it wouldn’t help his draft stock. He’s a special team player and a backup slot CB. He will be fine. His tackling and speed will make him an outstanding ST player and good backup CB. He has a career ahead of him.

I dont buy this whole one more year wouldn’t have helped him. One more year with Scalley, Shah and coach Elisaia could have been huge. He couldn’t have done any worse. His contract has little to no guaranteed money. To put that in perspective, Francis Bernard is getting a little bit guaranteed. And if he stays and it turns out the same, well at least he has a degree paid for. Now if the NFL doesnt work out, and chances are he’ll be out of the league within 3.3 years, he’ll have to pay to finish his degree. If you don’t make the grade, you stay in school.
