New Pac-12 Football Czar

  So I’m really confused about a couple of things with this news. First, while everyone is bleeding money and we don’t even have a football season, why is Larry Scott making this hire, or at least why now?? And how does this Czar make a difference for the conference? We need a Czar over all the P5 conferences but I’m not sure we need one just for our conference…I thought that’s what a Conference Commissioner is for? Isn’t Larry Scott supposed to be doing the job he just hired Merton Hanks for? I thought this is how he was justifying his ridiculous salary because he not only runs the conference but he also runs a television network as well. Maybe Larry Scott’s salary should be cut in half as a result of this new hire? Does anyone see this hire as a great thing for the Pac-12? If so, I’d appreciate being enlightened.

  Well I saw the news the other day but I hadn’t read anything on it until this article. I would say I like that it mentions officials training and he received national recognition for overseeing it at his previous job, lord knows PAC12 officiating has been one of if not the worst and most inconsistent for a while now.
  
  When I saw the news I took it as Scott’s replacement in waiting, just have to see how long of a wait. Let him get his feet wet and if he seems like he’s doing a good job let then make the plans for him to start officially take over for Scott.
