SALT LAKE CITY – No. 4-ranked Utah gymnastics (8-1, 5-0 Pac-12) continued its undefeated run in Pac-12 Conference action on Friday night, keeping the winning streak alive after topping No. 9 California (4-1, 3-1 Pac-12) by a score of 197.375-197.125 at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. This was our second best performance at home.
This score, combined with our 197.475 against Washinton, will be added to our two best away performances – 197.450 in Tempe and 196.900 at the Rio Tinto Best of Utah meet. The average of these four scores, 197.300, constitutes our National Qualifying Score (NQS) which will be used to rank teams starting on Monday, rather than the current ranking criteria, running average score.
We will have a chance to improve on that 196.900 score when the Red Rocks travel to Corvallis to take on the Oregon State Beavers. The Utes and Beavers will compete at 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. MT next Friday, March 5.
