If only one could predict the future, it would be a lot easier to make the right decisions.

The trickiest player with which to install the new offense is the decision making QB- and it isn’t new for him. So I am hoping that instilling the new offense will be easier than in the past.

I don’t love the interlocking U’s. Too busy.

Love your enthusiasm. Could be a great year, could be a middling year as far as I can tell. The B12 does not have a team stacked with elite starters and elite prospects backing up the starters. So it is hard to be certain about who will succeed.
If the balls bounce our way a bit, and we stay relatively healthy, and Dampier/Beck ball out- it will…[Read more]

I’m not convinced that there is a lot of risk to the system. The haves are pretty content. They are getting the best players, big money, and have a fun playoff. Further the playoff was a lot of fun to watch even though my team was not involved.
The reason we are have nots is due to our numbers. The system can afford less interest from Utah fans-…[Read more]

Rewording what he said and placing it in quotation marks is really lame. Doing so is not reasonable behavior.
As for the player- he is gone and I’m not going to waste time thinking about him.

1. The players all know each other as they have spent a lot of time together. The fans don’t know the new players. Most fans are not accustomed to needing a program to decipher the code of who is who. Some will find this annoying as they look to enjoy the game and get to know the players. Put me in this camp. It is not a big deal- but it is a bit…[Read more]

Uteanooga replied to the topic Is NIL and the portal sustainable? in the forum Football 2 months, 2 weeks ago
I think you are probably right here. My question is how many people would shed tears over Cal dropping football? I don’t think that many. None in Georgia and Ohio, and probably not that many in the Berkeley area.
I am not trying to say whether it would be good or bad for Cal to drop football but it would certainly not destroy college football if…[Read more]

I’ll be contrarian and say yes the system is sustainable. Given that it all started with judicial intervention rather than planned policy, it will take time for changes (hopefully improvements) to catch up. I suspect there will be formalization of the NIL deals with some type of time commitments for players accepting deals.
The system will allow…[Read more]

Are you suggesting that Whitt should trust an offense where the QB has an equal TD/INT ratio?

I suppose some management teams just don’t want to deal with the spectacle- they would rather focus on getting ready for the season. Apparently his talent has not been deemed spectacular enough to outweigh the circus.
He will get his shot and if he is good enough he will be just fine. Perhaps he will refrain from continuing the Prime pageant- or…[Read more]

Don’t be silly. Everyone wants to have an effective passing attack, and when we had such a passing attack we won the P12 sending to the Rose Bowl- twice. Or perhaps you forgot about that.
As I remember, those teams caught forward passes. But don’t let anything get in your way of a false narrative.

Uteanooga replied to the topic BYU lost two football starters to the portal today in the forum Football 2 months, 4 weeks ago
My expectation is that they will find a way to limit the overly frequent and spontaneous transferring but they will not be able to prevent Ohio State from paying more than Utah.
It is all new and occurred due to judicial intervention rather than an actual plan. It will improve. Just don’t hold your breath waiting for a level-playing field.

Every college coach has a big job in shaping these, dare we say it, frequently spoiled youngsters.
I hope it works out. Jahki has enormous potential.

There is no financial ROI. It is more like spending money on your fish tank or your garden- strictly hobby level.
The ROI is all emotional- same ROI as we normal peeps might get from buying season tiks or donating to Crimson Club.
