If there’s 1 thing I’ve learned the hard way this year, it’s that Off-Season results (Spring Camp, Spring Game, Fall Camp, Fall Scrimmage) don’t mean jack S%*T.
I bought into all the hype about this team being somewhere between the 2018 and 2019 teams. Although I still believe we’ve recruited well and have a lot of talent, we’re still very young and inexperienced and nowhere close to either the 2018 or 2019 teams.
It’s fun to follow all of the off-season reports, especially when dying for anything football related. But I’ve learned my lesson this year that it’s best to hold off on drinking all the off-season Kool-aid until we see it on the field.
Love the Utes, love our program, and the upward trajectory we’ve been experiencing these past 5 years. And I hope this year’s team can get a lot better as the season goes on. At the very least, I hope our young talent gets the development needed this year to set us up for exciting seasons in the future. Go Utes!!
