Tyler Huntley has had a rough time versus ASU.
    2017 – 19/35, 155 yds, 0 TD 4 INT, 11.6 QBR
    2018 – 7/15, 88 yds, 1 TD 2 INT, 46.3 QBR (injured in the 3rd quarter)
For some reason, Tyler has played extraordinarily bad against ASU.  Add in the frustration he must feel from sustaining his season-ending injury last year against them, I hope he is…[Read more]

  • I wasn’t impressed with ASU last year either. I honestly thought Utah was going to roll, and well, we all know how that game turmed out.

The problem with ASU is they typically have 2-3 really good athletes. This year it’s Daniels, Benjamin, and Aiyuk. Between those three, they are able to stay in every game until the end, and Herm has been…[Read more]

  • The ranking takes into consideration total number of recruits. Utah has 5. This ranking means absolutely nothing right now. But you already know that.

Huntley is the type of QB I get so frustrated with when their on the opposing team. So glad this guy is on our team. That little pitch to Brumfield on 4th down as he was in the process of being sacked was CLUTCH.

  • This is a terrible take. His mom is not a helicopter parent and she has been amazingly supportive of Utah. She is simply advocating for her son, like any parent would. A lot of people are making the same observation, so it’s not just her.

  • This guy seems to catch everything. Kind of reminds me of Carrington, strong hands and makes great adjustments to catch the ball.  His mom is very engaged on twitter and she mentioned (in a very benign way) that he doesn’t seem to be getting enough touches. I agree with her.

Their offense looks much improved running the air raid. Their receivers are, of course, amazing. JT Daniels looks a lot more comfortable this year.

Defensive line and linebackers look solid and are aggressive.

Their weak spot is their secondary. It’s obvious. Utah better be prepared to throw down field to be competitive at the coliseum.

  • 1. Utah is really, really, really going to miss Chase Hansen.
    2. Zach Wilson won’t be as agressive a runner as he was last year. If he runs with reckless abandon like he did against Utah last year, he won’t survive their first four games.  BYU-P offensive coaches pulled out all the stops against Utah, that won’t be the case next Thursday.  If…[Read more]

  • I joke about this happening a lot, but it actually makes sense in a lot of ways. Urban has coached at some of the nation’s premier schools, won multiple national championships, and has had unprecendented amounts of success. If he came back to Utah and was able to get to the CFP, or win a title, he would be cemented as the greatest college football…[Read more]

  • Before last year, I would have said ASU for sure. Then I read some comments from UW fans making fun of Covey, hoping for injuries, laughing at him when he got injured etc. Comments like, “I hope he gets killed out there,” and “I hope that hit permanently disabled him.” It wasn’t just one fan, it was several of them spewing that garbage.

    UW and…[Read more]

  • You and I have had different viewing experiences, then. I define a “close” game as one where I am nervous/anxious during the final minutes of the game. The only games I had anxiety in the final few minutes were 2010, 2012, and 2016. So I guess 3 out of the last 8 have been as close as they say.

    2011 – Blowout

    2013 – Utah punts, up 20-13 with…[Read more]

Can someone in the know explain the nature of Zack Moss’ injury he sustained last year? What kind of surgery did he have to correct it?  Will it affect his performance much this year? What are the chances of re-injury?

  • Chase Hansen was a one man wrecking crew that game.  His hit on JT Daniels that took him out of the game was one of the most beautiful and vicious tackes I’ve ever seen.  His subsequent taunting of USC and telling them to “get the f*** outta here” was EPIC.  Video clip for reference:

    Chase Hansen is…[Read more]

  • Assuming Wilson stays healthy, isn’t BYU projected to be much improved this year than previous seasons?

Also, Utah loses to bad teams occasionally during what is otherwise considered to be “good” seasons (Cal, Colorado, Oregon), so losing to a bad BYU team and then having a good season aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive.

  • Does anyone have recommendations for a handyman in Northern Davis County (Kaysville/Layton) area?
My dad recently passed away and left my mom with a very nice, but aging estate. My dad was an extremely proficient carpenter, mechanic, electrician, plumber, etc. and always handled the maintenance himself. I am a pretty competent handyman, but I am…[Read more]

  • Utah’s 2019 recruiting class is ranked #29 by average star rating. This doesn’t include 4-star transfers Rising and Bowen.
I don’t know how anyone can say this isn’t a very good recruiting class. I’m looking at you, Pace.
