And the issue of your post has been going on for hundreds of years. We act like we’re the first generation of humans to have ever dealt with a pandemic and dilemmas surrounding prevention protocols and vaccines.

Dallas– it’s amazing how fast a post can morph from a simple sports post to being totally political.  I’ve seen it happen a lot in the past year.  It’s the direct result of politics seeping into the sporting landscape.  We need a place to push those posts as our only other option is to delete the discussion and I’m pretty sure Tony is anti-censorship (which I agree with).  Luckily, Tony also made it so you can avoid topics.

Its the personal choice of government and private enterprises to require individuals to have either or both when employed or using their facilities.

My response…I assure you, the goverment is not concerned about my well being.    Deficet, homless, starving children, gas prices, just a few of many that need to be addressed before mandates of a vaccine against a virus.  if someone wants to live life  behind locked doors, facemasks and vaccines feel free to do. leave me out please.

The Govt has no personal choice by definition so your point is moot.  I don’t have a dog in this fight as I’ve made my choice.  But, this argument is really a question as to how we define a public health crisis.

FTR, my personal perspective, companies and individuals should have the right to choose and face the consequences of that right.  The govt should leave it up to it’s people.

The government choice I was referring to was their employees. They can choose to employ you based on vaccine status. Thats all.

Some vaccine manufacturers have performed better than others, then there’s this:

I both agree and disagree. This is way too complex of a question for a simple thumbs up/thumbs down.

Just a few things I’ve experienced.

One of our friend’s father’s passed away from COVID, however they are totally anti-mask. Not sure if they’ve been vaccinated.

My 82 year old father had a minor stroke about five weeks after getting the vaccine. Been as healthy as a horse prior, related? I don’t know, but with all the reports of heart issues, especially in younger males I can’t say what the ground truth is.

An HVAC worker in my buidling has a compromised immune system, so his doctor has instructed him not to get the vaccine. So not sure that was a personal choice.

Saw a news report about a month ago, discouraged people from stealthily getting a booster. The doctor they interviewed said a booster was not necessary, however in the same breath said those with increased risk factors should get a booster. That made no sense to me.

Variants, how effective are the current vaccines against the next variant? Would it be better to wait to get a booster until the vaccines have been modified to counter those effects?

Does the government/companies have the right to force vaccines? Is there a better way to deal with those who for whatever reason who are not going to get the vaccine?

This is a rather complex topic with many factors and opinions. So IMO cannot be boiled down to such a broad question.

I think vaccines are good and work, but it is a personal choice.
