That’s us. If this staff had PSU’s recruits we would have won this game easily. We didn’t have the talent to compete with PSU. They had guys out, we had guys out. They have more depth than we do. The backup QB on the #8 team in the country should not be Bryson Barnes. No, that isn’t a complaint. I’m just saying our talent level had no business getting us to #8 in the country.

This team is making progress but needs to upgrade another notch or two before we can talk about winning a Rose Bowl and not getting embarrassed in the playoff.

We were missing a LOT of offensive talent, not to mention our #1 defender.

I have to agree. Penn State is a football blue blood and routinely gets recruiting classes that are exponentially better than Utah’s. That means that they have a much deeper bench and can absorb injuries to key personnel or opt-outs to a greater degree than Utah. There’s nothing that Utah can do about it but continue to recruit efficienly and improve on a yearly basis. Off-topic but I feel bad for RJ Hubert tonight. He was victimized on two of the longest plays in Penn State and Rose Bowl history. Sad to have your college career end on that note.
