I watched a video about Alex Jensen today, and it reminded me of the amazing recruiting class he was a part of. The three top recruiting classes in Ute basketball history IMO are:

1994 – Alex Jensen, Brandon Jessie, Mike Doleac, Andre Miller, and Drew Hansen (4 of these guys were starters on the 1998 team that played for the national championship. Jessie was a great athlete, but was a JC transfer.)

1977 – Danny Vranes, Tom Chambers, Bankowski, and Martin (All four of these guys started on the top-ten 1980/81 team. Vranes and Chambers were both picked in the top 8 of the NBA draft.)

1972 – Mike Sojourner, Ticky Burden, Chas Menatti, Doug Terry (Sojourner and Burden were considered top ten recruits in 1972. Burden led the nation in scoring in his junior year. The 73/74 team was a fun team to watch. Sojourner went to the NBA after his sophomore year.)

The 2002 class wasn’t too bad with Andrew Bogut, Tim Drisdom, Richard Chaney and Bryant Markson.
