I think I’m going to post anything sports related here that I post over on UF.N. I’m doing this for two reasons: 1) I would like to see this place get more traffic. 2) There are people here who have left UF.N or have never been there to begin with.

Games in which Utah has extra time to prepare: @ BYU, vs Stanford, vs UCLA, vs Washington State.

      – The week before we play BYU, they play LSU on a Saturday while we play North Dakota on a Thursday. Our bye week is scheduled the week before we play Stanford. UCLA has to travel to Utah for a Friday night game, so not really extra time for us but lost time for them due to traveling on a short week. Washington State is the week following the Friday UCLA game so that gives us an extra day there too.

Games in which Utah’s opponent has extra time to prepare: @ Arizona, @ Washington, vs Colorado.

      – Arizona plays UTEP the Friday before our Friday night game with them while we play SJSU on Saturday; and we have to travel to Arizona. Washington plays Stanford on a Friday the week before we play them on a Friday while we play WSU on Saturday; and once again we are traveling on a short week. Colorado has their bye week scheduled for the week before we play, fortunately the game is at our place.

Games in which Utah might get caught looking ahead: North Dakota, San Jose State.

      – It should almost be expected that Utah would look passed an FCS opponent to BYU. And not that SJSU is that bad and Arizona is that good, I think Utah could just be looking forward to conference play. The rest of our games are so big I just don’t see any way we start looking ahead unless we are in contention for the division lead late in the season.

Games in which Utah’s opponent might get caught looking ahead: BYU, Stanford, USC, ASU, Oregon, Washington.

      – There is no way that BYU should be looking passed Utah, but with our game being sandwiched between LSU and Wisconsin it would be understandable if they got caught looking ahead, especially if they managed to pull the upset over the Tigers and start dreaming of an undefeated season. Stanford plays Oregon the week after us and up until last year, IIRC, that game has decided the North division. USC hosts Notre Dame the week after they play us, but after beating them last year we will probably have their full attention this year. ASU plays USC the week after us; hard not to look ahead to the Trojans. Oregon plays a big rivalry game with Washington the week after playing us and Washington will be in the Apple Cup after our match-up with them.

We cannot overlook Wazzu. I’m still haunted by the rain game at home a a few years ago.

Wait, there are sports posts on UFN?

Thought it was all politics now.

Thanks for posting this. I have looked at Ufn before but don’t sign up there because it seems to be almost all politics. I like to occasionally talk politics but I am kind of burned out on that lately. Plus I think Tony does a nice job with this site, no offense to Ufn.

BYwho has a tough slate to start, but there is no way they don’t have that Utah game circled on their calendars. They will be fired up. Sigh.

Thanks for posting this here also. I have pretty much committed solely to this site. I don’t want to continually check both.

Thanks for posting @utethunder – At this moment there are 52 users browsing the site and 22 are members or logged in. There are a lot of lurkers who never register. Some hit this site that may not freqeunt other sites, and there may be some crossover.  The point is that you will reach people here you might not reach elsewhere and the other way applies too.

      GO UTES.
