  Some caller questioned Huntley’s play last night. Bill literally started to scream at the guy. Bill makes Huntley sound like a Heisman candidate. It was inappropriate. It’s fine to diagree with a caller, but don’t scream at the guy and make him feel like an idiot for thinking differently than you do. Bill did apoligize after the call.
  
  Bill would probably scream at me too because I do not think that Huntley was impressive against an FCS defense. Washington has two All Americans in their defensive backfield. If we couldn’t go deap against Weber, there is NO chance against UW.
  
  I hope Tyler can get the kinks worked out. The potential is there.

  To be fair, there were two PI’s called on deep balls last night. Plus, the offense was pretty vanilla. They’ll open up the playbook more as the season progresses.

  I think it is really hard to listen to Utah fans this morning. REALLY hard.
  
  A lot of nonsense being spewed around and a lot of just…ignorance dressed up as “analysis”.
  
  It was a great game last night. That’s it. If you are looking for more than that…you are trying too hard. There wasn’t any more. We came out, played live for the first time all fall, went up against a really, really solid team, and absolutely kicked their asses.
  
  If you want more than that…smh. Sucks to be you I guess.

    I understand no one other than you is entitled to an opinion, but other people have every right to express their thoughts. I am no expert, but I have been following Utah football loyally for 55 yeas and I have an opinion. (It is just my opinion and I do not expect anyone to share my feelings.) I think my opnion is very similar to KW.
    
    Great defense!!!
    
    -4 in turnovers is horrible
    
    Offense was sloppy at times
    
    Huntley was okay but not great
    
    In the end – none of that was my original point. The only thing I was saying is that Bill needed to tone it down. Not everyone is going to agree with him. You shouldn’t scream at someone because he sees things differently.

      Hey, look, if you can’t enjoy a 41-10 win, where our defense was the best its ever been, what can you enjoy?
      
      All I’m saying is that if your first reaction after last night’s game is to be anything other than joy…then that sucks for you.
      
      It was a great game. The best game our defense has ever played, statistically. If you can’t enjoy that, or if you are feeling anything other than joy after that, then when will you be happy? Probably never. And that sucks for those fans.

        One can be happy, but also realize that there is a lot of things which must improve before next week and especially before we play UW in two weeks.
        
        I am not going to argue with you about how they played. That would be pointless. But, this is a board where people like to express their feelings about Utah sports. I don’t agree with everything and that’s fine.

        Why do you have to make a personal comment? Irrespective of his enjoyment level about 41-10 game…is that your place to question? Did he question your level or appropriateness of enjoyment?

    It was NOT a great game last night. There were some good and even great things that happened, but overall it was far from great.
    
    We had 4 turnovers, couldn’t convert a 4th and 1, had a low 3rd down conversion rate, WRs were dropping passes left and right, and for as well as the defense played, they didn’t cause a single turnover.
    
    And don’t give us this “really, really solid team” nonsense. Weber State is an FCS team that wouldn’t win a single game if they played our schedule. There’s not a single player on their roster who would start for us. They might not have a single player that would crack our two deep.

      For most of the game they looked just like that. For one quarter Utah looked like they were not mentally prepared. Still a fun win!

  Riley should listen to his own radio station. Gunther has been anti- Huntley all afternoon which only continues his anti-Huntley rant all last season. Tough to listen to that station anymore. Fortunately, Ben provides some intelligent comments to offset Gunther’s nonsense.

    Gunther hasn’t been unfair at all. He’s pointed out what Huntely did wrong and what he did right and for what it’s worth, Ben agreed with him. Gunther has also given praise where it’s due and criticism where it’s due to the rest of the team. And again, Ben agrees.

  I wonder how much we’d be complaining if Utah’s D gave up a long TD drive and a longish FG drive. Or gave up a big play that caused the TD.
