    The Benefits of Being Negative.

The reason I enjoy antagonizing strong Kool-Aide drinkers is because when we lose, I can say “I told you so”; gives me a good feeling inside, helps alleviate pain after a loss. And if we win, we win, it’s also a good feeling.

It’s win-win, every week. So I really don’t understand why there’s only two or three of us on this board. More people should try it, it’s great.

Hard to get excited about something that you view pessimistically though.

I too agree that the poor should sell their children in meat markets to the rich to improve their lives and the dining experience of the rich.

Unless things implode you’re going to look like a Negative Nelly.   I’d rather be cautiously optimistic, myself, and with the Utes, they’re going to win more than lose, likely, so that is good.   Its sort of like the perma-Bears on the stock market, I guess if they call the next crash they can crow about it, but if people actually follow such advice they end up missing out on the upside, a lot.  To each his own.

Being negative in this context is actually indulged by exceeding expectations for 15 years. Satisfaction for betting on the side of mean reversion is real. Pessimism when a team is in the toilet leada to questions about why you’re doing this at all. Let’s keep hoping Jim Fassel Fan–not an accident–can be a board eeyore. If we perpetually suck, there will be no one for him to lecture

If you’re feeling that much pain when the school you’re probably only loosely connected to loses at a sport played by kids you’ve never met, you may need to find some meaningful relationships or something.

Well that was a condescending post.
