It will be interesting to see how Davis and Whittemore are interchanged…Creed’s got some impressive speed, Ryan’s got a better grasp on the offense. Wonder if we’ll start to see some more empty sets to get both on the field.

Totally agree with Charlie – it will be fun to see where Nate and Hunter pop up during a given game. As long as we…[Read more]

    Ficklin will be number QB2.
He’s more accurate than Wilson and a more dynamic runner.

RB3 will be Devin Green. Duke will be a special teams guy and emergency RB.

TE in name only. Tia and Andrews will line up all over the field.

I think your list is pretty much what goes into fall camp. RB, TE, and WR will solidify more in the fall. Johnson and Hunter will have more of a roll that is hard to reflect in the depth chart because I have noted Beck has an interest in a hybrid back. Bray has a chance to move up as the quick back option. Lud had a lot of interest in a back that…[Read more]

  • Most of it looks pretty solid, with the defensive backfield experienced and should be a strong point of the D.

I would put Ficklin as the backup and Wilson 3rd. They can still compete in practices, but Ficklin showed out in the Spring game to be the likely best QB of roster. Start developing him now.

Why start Dillon ahead of Fitzgerald?…[Read more]

  • One factor that doesn’t show up on the depth chart is leadership and work ethic. This team will be much different than the past two years. Hard to be a leader when you’re hurt (Rising). Dampier by all accounts is a proven leader and has accepted his leader role on this team. Snowden Barton Fano Johnson all good leaders on defense. Add on the dis…[Read more]

  • Thanks for the list. Starting offensive line looks really solid. Tight ends could be good if Andrew’s is as good as advertised. The rest are unfamiliar names and have had success with previous teams so 🤞. WR and depth look suspect.

Defense looks pretty solid at most positions. Linebackers, nickel and safety’s look really good. Good speed on the…[Read more]

  • We already have the Kaelin Clay touchdown. We don’t need “there’s trouble with the snap…” Hopefully we’ll never notice the guy 🙂

  • Now that the portal cycle is officially closed and the roster is 98% complete … how do we see the depth chart playing out? This is my personal opinion without any “or’s” on the chart:

    OFFENSE:

    QB:
    1. Devon Dampier
    2. Isaac Wilson
    3. Byrd Ficklin

    RB:
    1. Wayshawn Parker
    2. NaQuari Rogers
    3. Bryce Duke

    TE:
    1. Dallen Bentley
    2. Hunter Andrews…[Read more]

That’s fair. I don’t see 11-1 happening, but I also don’t see 7-5 happening either. I think reality is somewhere in between which is good enough to be in title contention.

Obviously whether it happens or not is one thing but I really do like how this teams been constructed and think they’ll be highly competitive.

It all breaks down if we don’t get a 5-star holder of place kicks.

    Kidding.

They rate Kickers and long snappers differently. But we have a 5* kicker too. The Murray kid is special.

You had me excited for the NEW NEZ video boards. I guess you just want to know how big the current ones are…

  • Wow. We nailed down a 5*.

I’m into djent, but instrumental. Anything heavy and progressive.

Too small to see from the south endzone is all I know.

    ‘Just fine’ is the key.

Literally a poster in this thread said 8-4 would be a disappointment. If your framing of Utah’s success is calling 8-4 a disappointment, then you need to recalibrate things.

Utah will be just fine in the sense I believe they’ll be competitive and likely push for a bowl game – probably even make a bowl game.

    But I’d…[Read more]

My summer started a week ago with a trip to Chicago to see the Giants play the Cubs at Wrigley. Pretty sweet, spent 2 1/2 hours on an eBike up and down Lakeshore trail and through Grant Park before my pals showed up for the games. Twin Anchors BBQ and too many Old Styles. Was pretty wiped out when I had to work last Thursday but that’s what…[Read more]

Hi UteBacker and thanks for the information. I’ll look into doing something like that during my next trip to Alaska, whenever that is. We’re already signed up for a full day of cruising on the water and I think my family would revolt if we were to do it again in a short time.

We’re on the same page in terms of our distaste for tanking. Totally agree w/ there. You have to be very careful to not build a loser culture. It worked out for OKC and Houston though! So while I hate tanking (and what it stands for), I genuinely think it’s our best chance right now to try and get an MVP-caliber player that could take us back…[Read more]
