The net effect seems to be that the top talent will play, but the next-most talented will bounce to another playing opportunity, instead of patiently being a backup.
Therefore the top talent is spread thin at the the top. you don’t have schools backlogging studs, as they will be Portalling, looking for opportunties.
Effectively, the top talent…[Read more] -

I miss Loboman (formerly of uf.n). He was a great supporter of our Utes, when we went to beat Alabama.
Sad to see the Lobos so decimated by the current football world. Hope they can rebound soon and be competitive again. -

Here’s what we know…we know that college football, under a certain set of guidelines, has been wildly popular for over a hundred of years. In fact, at one time college football was much more popular than professional football.
Here’s what we don’t know…we don’t know if professionalizing college football will expand or even maintain its…[Read more]

Reality is Whit is working with a limited amount of funds. You see our AD was busy trying to increase our revenue in dimes from our fans, when he should have been working the philanthropist for dollars. Now we’re scrambling to make up our loses and it won’t happen this year, or even next. To be frank, may not happen until we get a new AD andor president

Love this take. I’ve said it for the past several years. Why are we paying these athletes and giving them so much attention. I wish the big donors at all the schools would get together and start donating to sciences, math, medicine, etc…
We all get excited about some kid signingor sad when they transfer away. It all becomes irrelevant when…[Read more] -

Davis is gonna be a great mentor to the younger receivers in the program. He’s a depth guy but a pseudo WR Coach

So… The New Mexification of Utah continues. We’re quickly becoming a lower tier G5 team.

Well this has been an eventful last month and especially eventful day with Keanu announcing he’s bouncing. What’s the vibe on the hill? I feel like there’s a lot of momentum with the offense. I always trust a Scalley defense but you can only take so many vultures coming and taking your guys without it having a big effect. This NIL and portal shit…[Read more]

10-4…the somewhat ok news is that you still have guys in the program that graded as high as he did, or pretty close.

I think this is more about a player agreeing to a certain number of $, making a commitment, and the coaches moving on to the next task. All the while, the player is fielding more offers and gets a better one. I think the U is in a place where if you agree to a deal, they won’t negotiate with you further. They feel your word is your bond and if…[Read more]

There was another thread last week about what NIL (name, image, likeness) is supposed to be and what it has become. But worth revisiting how bizarre the NIL world has become. Almost none of the players receiving NIL money have any actual NIL market value, if there was a real NIL market. That is, there are practically zero players that provide a…[Read more]

I ditched my season tickets last year after 20 years and didn’t regret it at all.

I am dense, so please explain this. Wouldn’t there still be roughly the same number of players seeking roughly the same number of opportunities? I can understand that some lower level schools are getting people dropping down from higher level schools, and there are of course players at lower level schools getting spots at higher level schools.…[Read more]

You had players grading at the same level as he was…at least according to PFF Grades. I snipped this from my PFF Grades account. Don’t get me wrong, this one hurts…but it may be something the coaches didn’t value paying him above a certain level.
So, if Tanuvasa was demanding compensation above fair value, then Utah might have been willing…[Read more]
