I think the flip side to that is that I recall many asking how we would replace Urban Meyer. A negative is not the only possible outcome nor should it scare us into accepting the status quo.

Utah had an overall losing conference record the first 8 years of playing in the P12. 2019 was the first year Utah got over the hump to an overall P12 winning record. For everyone who believes that you need a 230 pound bruiser to run the ball, Troy Davis was 5’8, 185 and ran against stacked boxes since he was all Iowa State had.

Troy Davis? The little dude was from Miami and played HS ball at Miami Southridge, one of my school’s (South Miami) biggest and most hated rivals. Believe it or not, he also rushed for 2000 yards in high school.

What I would like to see is something akin to the 2022 season PAC 12, with a bunch of teams having three losses. That would put the Big 12 in real danger of not even sending a team to the CFP provided Army and Boise State win out.

Well, I’m definitely rooting for both Army and Boise State to win out and let the chips fall where they may…
