I think we all will honestly. I don’t think it’s going to happen though.

It’s only conjecture on my part, but what I imagine happened is that Whitt told Lud that he was demoting him and Lud told him the old Johnny Paycheck song. It’ll be interesting to see if Lud gets his buyout since, by resigning, he shouldn’t get anything.

I’m going to lose my shit if now, all of sudden, Utah starts averaging 30+ plus points a game and rips off a five-game winning streak to close out the season.

The WR wildcat (at least for the first down) was a very similar formation and play to what Penn St. used to score two touchdowns in the Rose Bowl. We aren’t very physical off of the LOS, and we struggle when there is a lead block. Both of these pays (and most of AZ’s running lays) exploited that.
(TCU) (PSU)…[Read more]

HeyyyUguyyys replied to the topic Whitt and Cam opinings and observations in the forum Football 8 months ago
Everyone gets a pass in my mind, Cam and frustrated fans alike. Top level college NIL is simultaneously just and ridiculous. A quarterback like Cam, especially when he is leading the team to Rose bowls, is generating a ton of revenue and he deserves a piece of the pie. Then something as small as a basic finger injury happens and the optics change…[Read more]

I agree that we are missing the lockdown CB, and that safety play in the box is not at the level of last year. I am out on LB play because of the injuries (the LB play seemed significantly improved yesterday with the return of Karene). For the first time this season, we started getting to a QB yesterday. Pressure will make our secondary healthy.

New poll idea “Should Utah win the football game against Houston?”

Gave up a bunch of chunk plays to be sure and never figured out how to stop the WR wildcat. When was the last time a team trying to finish off a Utah defense relied on a WR running the ball to make it happen?
Nine different players touched the ball for TCU on Saturday night. Only the QB’s didn’t have a rush or reception for 10 yards or more and…[Read more]

All it took was utter collapse. Not so bad.

Anfernee replied to the topic New OC Mike Bajakian at Northwesten in the forum Football 8 months ago
Hes not the next OC. So the already negative posting needs to stop. He has a great relationship with Wilson. Bajakian will simplify the approach to the system, devise strategies to help the overcome the stacked defensive fronts that have feasted on mistakes over the past few weeks, and provide relief for a freshman quarterback that is clearly…[Read more]

The poll only started this morning, but it is now closed since it is no longer relevant. I guess the coaching staff looked at the overwhelming 89% YES votes and knew it was time to make the change.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic New OC Mike Bajakian at Northwesten in the forum Football 8 months ago
Everybody needs to understand that this is not the new permanent OC. Just a stopgap. So what he did at previous stops shouldn’t be a huge deal. The rest of this season is about trying to get bowl eligible and developing Isaac.

I was just crafting a post about that LOL

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Defense in the forum Football 8 months ago
One of my counters to this would be that yes, it’s a small sample as of now, but I do feel we were playing better offenses in the PAC. So many guys have been open or the secondary has made a mistake. We don’t have a lockdown corner and our safety play obviously has taken a huge downgrade along with linebacker play. Maybe it’s just the eye…[Read more]

He might make some calls that exploits the opposing defense?

Based on the D’s turnaround after the Utah score, I think the D is likely better than their statistics indicate and would improve if the O started doing their part. (It seems like a case of the D being completely disheartened).

Bajakian is not really the new OC. He’s just a stopgap.
I don’t anticipate much will change this year. How could it?

URow replied to the topic New OC Mike Bajakian at Northwesten in the forum Football 8 months ago
I was doing some stat searching as well.
Total offense ranks as OC:
2013 Tennessee: 95th
2019 Boston College: 47th, Utah 48th
2020 Northwestern: 93rd, Utah 52nd
2021 Northwestern: 116th, Utah 40th
2022 Northwestern: 107th, Utah 17th
2023 Northwestern: 124th, Utah 94th -

It would be very fitting of this season if this change somehow makes the O even worse.

Thanks for the news on Covey, in other news man stepped foot on the moon. I recognize he is playing right now but his time in the NFL seems to have been somewhat borderline the last few years. With his injury I assume that puts his NFL future into grey space. Love the dude and think he is smart and has amazing leadership qualities. When he is done…[Read more]
