Thank you for putting this together. But I’m not sure I’m fully following your conclusion. Are we as good as advertised at developing, or does that seem exaggerated? I’m surprised to see so many blue-chip players on the roster honestly.

Ludwig is just a mediocre OC at best and has a history of poor red zone and 4th down play calling. I don’t see much improvement on the offensive side of the ball. Defense is way over rated, they over pursue, can’t tackle and secondary coverage is horrible.

O’Toole has another year and then could apply for a medical after that. O’Toole definitely hasn’t done enough to move on to the next level yet.

And there’s a vocal part of the OSU fanbase that wants a different coach. Which is what happens when fans delude themselves into believing that only championships EVERY year are acceptable outcomes.

Let’s be honest, Cam, Reid and O’toole have been basically ‘gone’ this entire season. I would argue Kuithe has been half gone as well. Bernard, Fillinger and Singer, we will miss.

This is true. Although with the transfer portal. Who knows. But this was the year.

Yeah, it was a mistake to make him HC in waiting. He should definitely be a candidate for the job, but not opening it up and seeing what good coaches are available is a mistake.

You think he wants to come back for a rebuild after the way last year went and the way this year is going? Next year’s team will likely be worse than this year’s team.

He has said he doesn’t see himself coaching into his late 60s. He turns 65 next month. Odds are, he’s not coming back.
