I’m going to get back on the predict the score contest now, since I have the home page done. I think there are some ghosts in the machine on the home page though, so may have to do some bug fixes.
Haven’t gotten any feedback on how to do scoring for predict the score, so here’s what I’m thinking. Each game the user can make points in the following ways:
1. Guess a team’s score within 10 points – 5 points awarded
2. Guess a team’s score withing 5 points – 10 points awarded
3. Guess a team’s score exactly – 15 points awarded
4. Predicting the winner – 10 points
5. Bonus for guessing both teams’ scores exactly – 10 points
So let’s say Utah is playing byu in football.
User Ute69 predicts the score to be Utah 42 byu 7
User BigUteFan predicts the score at Utah 40 byu 6
User Tony (haha) predicts Utah 42-0 over the zoo
Utah wins 42-0.
Ute69’s points:5 points for guessing byu’s score within 10
15 points for guessing Utah’s exact score
10 points for predicting the winner
30 Total points
BigUteFan’s points:
10 points for guessing Utah’s score within 5 points
10 points for guessing byu’s score within 5 points
10 points for picking the winner
30 Total points
Tony’s points:
15 points for guessing Utah’s score exactly
15 points for guessing byu’s score exactly
10 points for picking the winner correctly
10 bonus points for picking both teams’ scores exactly
50 total points
