  I didn’t realize there were even 1,900 college basketball players in the country. This game of musical chairs is getting annoying. We might as well just release every player from every school at the end of every season and every coach can re-recruit them all.

    There are only 4511 D-1 scholarship players. (13 x 347 schools)
    
    The portal includes the lower division, but 1900 is still a crazy high number.

      Amazing that more than 40% of the players are looking around. I do think that athletes should have some freedom to transfer, they are not property, but at the same time what happened to commitment, loyalty, perserverance?
