For over a week now there has been small but vocal group of doomsdayers who fear covid will topple the Rose Bowl.  However, could the likelyhood be just as high that one of the playoff teams pulls out and the Utes could be oddly positioned as the best replacement playoff team due to lack of opt outs.

Food for thought if we are going for a ride on the “what if” train.

The committee has stated that those will be forfeits. If three teams forfeit, the last standing will be champ. No substitute teams.

Every conference said before the season a covid team would lose by forfeit.  We saw how long they held onto that one once basketball season started.  I have absolute confidence a game will occur on January 10.

If we are living the land of make believe then the Utes can win it all in a tournament they were not even invited to.  It has happened here before.
