KeymasterI was impressed by the bball team tonight. Defense was solid, low turnovers, bench players did great. They held all those big guys from Missouri at bay pretty well. Quite surprised. Are we better than I thought this year? Looking that way.

ParticipantGood team win. Different players stood out like Tillman for example but over all the whole team played well.

ParticipantI need to see a lot more before I get excited but there are things there. Barefield growing as a playmaker. JB as an initiator and attack guard. Tillman has all around potential. Better defense I think but mizzou was awful?

ParticipantWell balanced scoring. Fans like to look for the superstar standouts, and the loss of Kuz does hurt, but you can still do a lot with good defense and teamwork, if its done well. Think of Wichita State.
A team still needs a couple guys who can create shots on their own. Barefield and Collette may make it work this year.

ParticipantI’ll try to temper expectations a little bit. They say that a team is never as bad as its worst loss and never as good as its best win. Obviously we haven’t lost yet, but this is by far our best win (so far). I doubt we are quite this good. I thought rebounding would be a concern this year, and I think that is the case – we still got outrebounded by Mizzou despite having many more opportunities (thanks to Mizzou’s awful shooting percentage).
So you don’t think I’m a total downer, I loved how we got control of our turnovers. Turnovers have always been LK’s Achilles heel and have held us back in past seasons. If we can keep turnovers low, we could be a tournament team.

ParticipantAppears to me that our best rebounders (Tillman and Seeley in my opinion) are coming off the bench. You can throw Jayce Johnson into that mix as well – he looks awkward but he’s aggressive. Collette has never been a great rebounder and somehow didn’t even manage to get 1 last night. How is that possible?

ParticipantIt’s to bad Seeley is too athletic to play for us. He didn’t see one minute last night.
Im sure we will hear he had to play in the system first excuses. But he needs to be getting at least 10 minutes a game to develop and learn

ParticipantThey were even better tonight against Ole Miss. Justin Bibbins had a huge game with 23 points. Utah looks better than they were last year.
