EDMONTON, Alberta – All of the hard work, preparation, sacrifice and team building has led to this: a gold medal game between the United States and Canada.

The U.S. holds the advantage over Canada since 2016, with a 2-2-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record, including the 2017 tournament in which the American squad defeated Canada in a gold-medal shootout. Troy Terry played hero for the U.S. squad scoring on four consecutive shootout attempts, while Tyler Parsons stood tall in the American net.

Both teams enter tonight’s contest with tournament-leading offensive production and goaltending. The teams rank first and second in goals scored and team shutouts. However, the United States power play unit (42.86%) holds the advantage over Canada (33.33%), and could be the difference-maker in tonight’s game.

Tonight will be the first matchup for the United States against Canada since last year’s preliminary matchup that Canada won, 6-4. The U.S. will look to extend its gold-medal head-to-head advantage over Canada, which stands at 3-1
