Pac-12 is down to three bowls with tie-ins. This season truly is just for practice.
I’m surprised it took this long.
There are no rules in 2020. What’s to stop some teams from just playing an extra game or two at home stadiums?
Good question. I thought I heard a rumor that the SEC and PAC 12 were looking to play a game in lieu of the Vegas Bowl. They’d need to get ESPN on board but I see no reason why the Big 10 and PAC 12 can’t also look at playing other games that were canceled.
Armed Forces switched to the Pac vs SEC, Central.
The networks need inventory. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t say no to independently scheduled “post-season” games.
Well, there’s “Larry Scott” for one. That joker already mandated that nobody below .500 may accept a bowl invitation.
the “not a bowl” loophole
I think phillys point is more that Larry Scott is a complete jackass and would probably screw up a “non-bowl” game invite even if he ignored his apparent bias to avoid playing football.
