I know the season is not over m, I’m just speculating. I think Rising will likely stay for next year. Do you think the team will be better or worse next year?
You’d have to assume the defense will improve?
It could help change some of our mindsets. As next year might not be the rebuild we all think it was going to be.
Rising has already graduated. He’s not coming back another year. He’ll try to crack the NFL
We’re still fairly young just taking a quick glance at the depth chart. Obviously it’ll all depend who goes pro and who decides to come back. It’ll be interesting to see if Rising and potentially Kuithe come back. I’m assuming Phillips will declare for the draft. All of our offensive and defensive linemen right now would be able to come back. Experience could be good but our schedule is also brutal next year with Florida and Baylor on it.
Phillips said when he was recruited he is doing 3 years and he is leaving for the draft. He is definitely gone.
Rising I’m not sure if he goes to the NFL, if we go 10-2 then yeah I think he goes. But if only leads the team to 8-4 ish record then I would suspect he is possibly back the next year. Which might bring Kuithe back. Would be exciting
I think it will be a rebuild even if Rising comes back.
How, we lose Kincaid, Kuithe, and Phillips.
We would lose diabete as another more significant loss and probably TT.
We could get the byu TE in the portal and a couple other possible transfer players to help fill holes and bring some experience. We will be returning a lot of players who should have more comfort and understanding in the system, the biggest wildcard for me is qb play and losing our 1st round corner.
I’m thinking in terms of the impactful players we’ll lose.
2022 is Rising’s fifth college football season. Given that and his prior injury history, I sincerely doubt that Rising comes back next year. This especially if there’s a chance that he could be drafted and stick with some NFL team.
I wonder how much NIL makes a difference.
I have to think that, even on a team’s practice squad, the money would be significantly better being in the NFL. But hey, you never know, maybe Rising wants to stay in Utah as long as he can and go straight into coaching like Brian Johnson.
