Texas is only the third perennial blue blood team we have ever faced in a bowl.

The other two being Bama and USC. I don’t know if you can call any of the other teams perennials. GT and WVU are maybe the two closest other teams.

I hope we can get somewhat excited for this game, it should be a fun time, win or lose.

Have the Utes ever played Michigan in a bowl game?

Never in a bowl game.  We’re 2-1 against them in Ann Arbor and 1-0 in Salt Lake.

One of a small number of teams to have a winning record against them.

So are you saying a win over a 7-5 Texas team is equivalent to beating a 6-6 Michigan team in a bowl? Hmmm… that’s interesting, maybe we should start thinking about declaring ourselves NCs, it worked for another team. TIC

TIC or not, I said none of that. Why bring BYU into this?

Beating Texas is always fun. They’re like USC in that they think they should be top 10 every year. Cal took them down twice in the Sonny Dykes era and that was probably the highlight of his era.
