Utah vs Penn State X’s and O’s?

Lots of comparisons between Utah and Penn State in terms of players, offense, defense, statistics and all that.  But how do we stack up in terms of straight up coaching? Who has advantages and disadvantages in that realm? Obviously there’s only one Whitt on the planet so I look at that as an advantage. I know nothing about PS’s coaches or strategies offensively or defensively, other than they are a similar style football to us. Thoughts?

Although I maintain our coaches don’t take a backseat to anybody, PSU’s a very well coached team.

Good question.  I am sure that Scalley and Ludwig will have great game plans in place to put us in a position to win.  I am just not sure if we have the horses on offense.  Maybe, Yassmin and Jackson step up and take us to victory.  Yassmin was a 3rd string TE to begin the season and Jackson was a 3rd string QB.  Now they are key offensive players in the Rose Bowl.

Aren’t we only missing Kincaid from the offensive threats that we had when playing USC?

I was counting what we had at the first of the year.  And I hope we have a healthy Vele for the Rose Bowl.

How an offense performs against USC’s defense is not a good measuring stick of how they’ll perform against a team with Pedo State’s defense. They are the best defense we’ve faced all year. SDSU is 27th in totaly defense. Pedo State is 16th, we are 20th. We have not played a defense as good as this all year.

I’m not saying our offense can’t score points on these guys, hopefully we can make it happen. I’m sure we’ll be ready to play.
