Five home games, a road trip to Nevada and neutral court contests that include jaunts to Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, highlight the Utes’ 12-game non-conference schedule. Utah could face a total of seven teams that won at least 20 games a season ago, along with the possibility of facing up to six teams that earned 2019 NCAA Tournament berths.
Why isn’t Donny Tillman on the promo? Oh wait.
Well at least we ain’t bitching about the quality of the non conference schedule. So there is that.
Not bad. I’m seeing maybe 3 wins on that schedule.
7 and 5.
Seven?!?!?!
Where in the world are we getting 7 wins with this schedule?
You must smoke a lot of pot. A LOT!
I want to smoke some of that too to get me through this season.
5 games are just sitting there to be had. Two more will be winable. If you focus on the two that left (I also wish they had not) there is every reason to wring your hands and worry. That took us a step back no doubt. But if you factor in the players we did not have last year and the development of others, the net whould be progress. It may take some time to get everyone playing together, however, there are ample teams on the schedule that will also be trying to mesh in new players and coaches. Last year’s team would do better than 7, no reason this year’s team can’t do 7. Spending half my time on the positives and half on the negatives gave me more hope than focusing on the negative. Having Daniels come back may provide the balance to the old school culture that helped Majerus work. I am going to expect the same.
7 wins is not out of the realm of possibility.
at Nevada – Toss up New Coaching staff. Entire starting line up graduated and remaining players on roster ALL put their names in the transfer portal when Alford was hired. If you go to the UNR B-ball website the current roster shows 5 players. They might be the only team in America in more disarray then Utah.
Mississippi Valley St. – W
Minnesota – W
Costal Carolina – W
UC Davis – W
Weber St. – W
Central Arkansas – W
That’s 6 wins right there and maybe we steal one from Nevada or San Diego St. win the 2nd game in the South Carolina tournament. I’m afraid BYU and Kentucky will both beat Utah easily.
