PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic What I think about the 2025 football season in the forum Football 20 hours, 52 minutes ago
What worries me the most about our passing game isn’t the lack of experience at WR. It’s the experience our presumed starter has at throwing INTs.
I watched our Spring game on ESPN+, and thought that Dampier was just “pretty good”. He wasn’t “great”. And nobody behind him looked capable of leading us to Arlington in December.
Travis Wilson…[Read more]

Does Utah believe that Retzlaff worse than our QB2, or so we just not want the baggage that’ll inevitably follow him?

You’ve already been outed as a zoob. There’s nowhere to go here anymore. All you’re doing now is embarrassing ybu-p, by proving just how “imaginary” your self-proclaimed “higher standards” really are.

All that happened was (1) a Mormon kid, committing to (2) his daddy’s alma mater, with (3) a 7-figure incentive. Zoob nation wants to paint this as though “they’re back”, and had overtaken Utah as the more prized in-state institution, but this kind of recruiting “win(s)” only happen when there’s a “legacy” kid seeking approval from parents and…[Read more]

Not in the 2026 class.
The only other one that I know of is Thaddeus Thatcher, from our 2027 class.

Per Rivals, he’s a mid-level 3-star QB, with offers from Cincinnati, Mississippi St, UCF, West Virginia, and Purdue.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic 2028 non conference football opponents announced in the forum Football 3 weeks, 5 days ago
I like the Wisconsin game. But Nevada? Booo! We don’t recruit NV that much, and when we do, those players are predominantly from the Las Vegas region. So schedule UNLV.
And I hate scheduling all FCS teams. Even the “Utah” ones.

Awesome! Not that this will stop the tdS from tampering with him. He’ll be Junior this year, so barring an early exit to the NFL’s 2026 draft, they’ll do it again.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic The internet is doing its thing with the Shadeur Sanders mocking. in the forum Football 2 months ago
I just don’t see the point of piling on. Whichever team eventually drafts him — and he will be drafted — will be getting a steal. And Sanders may likely even end up at a better team. And as this should most certainly humble and motivate him, this could experience could very well benefit his professional career.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Perspective on BYU in the forum They So Poo Poo 2 months, 1 week ago
The “AAU” requirement is a “BigTen” stipulation. Not a “Pac-10” one. The Pac-10 only required a school to have a Tier-1 Research categorization. The tdS didn’t reach that pinnacle until just last year — 15-yrs too late for the Pac-10.
When Utah finally received our invitation, neither we, nor Arizona St, had achieved “AAU” status. And…[Read more]

Utah didn’t “pull a fast one” on ybu-p, when we were offered an invitation from the Pac-10. Nobody woke up one morning in mid-June 2010, and said…
“Wait….WHAT? Utah’s leaving the MWC to join the Pac-10??? Really??? I did NOT see that coming!”
Everybody knew the Pac-10 was interested in Utah. And everybody knew that Utah was interested…[Read more]

Correct you are Utah#1. Except that it’s the right wingnut MAGA Republicans who are the brainwashed, truth-hating, hypocrites, who will destroy anyone who disagrees with them or exposes them as the frauds they are, and then turn around and blames everybody else for the very thing they are guilty of doing.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Help me feel good about 2025 football in the forum Football 2 months, 1 week ago
I feel like the people who think that we’ll no longer need to rely on Cam Rising, as the reason for improvement in 2025, are missing the point. Our problem wasn’t “relying on Cam Rising”. It was “injury”. And “injury” isn’t exclusive to “Rising”.
If Dampier goes down, don’t expect his backup to flourish right out of the gate. And dual-threat…[Read more]
