I don’t care how tall they are. We need a rim protector. Houston had a rim protector. Nobody said we had a good rim protector last year. Also, I am not and was not complaining about anything AJ has done. I know the roster isn’t complete. What part of saying we need a rim protector suggests I think AJ doesn’t know that?
Maybe read what I say and s…[Read more]

Yes, height is not a necessary condition of length. What is your point? That doesn’t mean I’m wrong. Our team was both taller and longer last year. What we did not have was athleticism.

Right now we have athletic players. We need a tall and athletic player to protect the rim. That will be key if we want to play a high-pressure, aggressive defense.

I like the athleticism. I’m not sure why you think this team has a lot of length though. Our tallest guy at the moment is 6 ft 9. The Point Guard on last year’s team was 6 ft 8. What we didn’t have last year was athleticism. I’m glad we have that. Now we need a rim protector or two and a shooter or two.

Good pickup
Now we NEED NEED NEED a rim protector (two actually), and at least one more shooter.

I don’t care if people downvote me. If people don’t like my tone, that is their problem. Why? Because I have never insulted anyone on this site, neither have I ever said anything that is deliberately meant to offend. If people choose to read negativity or a harsh tone into my words, that is their choice. They could also choose to read my posts…[Read more]

I’m sorry, where in my post did I criticize AJ? The only thing my comment addressed was whether or not this guy is a true PG, which he most certainly is not. We had a true point guard, and that true point guard is now gone. I didn’t say that was bad. I didn’t say that was good. I just pointed out that Rick was incorrect to assume this guy is a true pg.

Seems like a good pickup. We are going to struggle shooting the ball unless these guys all start shooting a bit better. Also, we still don’t have anyone on the team taller than 6 ft 9 (unless they are some scrub holdover from last year I’m not aware of).
That being said, I’d rather have a strong, athletic team that can bully teams on defense.…[Read more]

What makes you think he’s a true Point Guard? He averaged 1 assist and 1 turnover per game. I’m not dogging him as a player. Glad to have him, but he is NOT a true point guard. Further, Mike Sharavjamts was much more of a true point guard than this guy. Sharavjamts averaged double the assists and the same amount of turnovers in 7 minutes less per…[Read more]

One guy that won’t touch the ball is just as good as another that won’t touch the ball. Amiright?

The NCAA had every opportunity to fix things before all of this happened. Case after case after case in court slowly leading to this mess, and they did NOTHING. If the NCAA hadn’t been so damn greedy we wouldn’t be in this position.

That type of thing is what made us great before we went to the Pac12, and that is the type of thing that will keep us competitive in the NIL era. Sign guys with athletic ability and room to grow in physique and talent, then coach them up. It’s more risky because they could leave for a bag of cash at a moment’s notice, but it is still a winning…[Read more]

I don’t think NIL is going away, and I think the transfer portal, in some form, is here to stay. Professional leagues have already tried to challenge the idea of free agency in court, and we all know how that went. If the NCAA or some team ever tries to get rid of transferring, the players just have to point at the precedent set by the pro league…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan started the topic How do you feel about our basketball team so far? in the forum Basketball (Men) 1 month, 2 weeks ago
I’m neither excited, nor bummed about it. The more I look at who we have thus far, the more I see the type of team Jensen is going after. It seems to me that he is going after athletes that can, at the very least, play aggressive defense. I think that is a great foundation to build off of. That isn’t to say none of these guys can score, but they…[Read more]
