Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic For the first time in about 20 years I watched no college football. in the forum Football 5 months, 4 weeks ago
I started betting 20.00 per game in college and NFL. I pick a couple games each week and it gives me a rooting interest in the games. Plus fantasy football leagues.
I never missed a Jazz game or Ute BB game from the seventies on until a couple years ago. I can’t stand the new style of play. The athleticism has gone off the chart and it’s tre…[Read more]

That would be amazing if someone stepped up like that.

Press-on I just looked at your past posts and you haven’t had a positive post all season. Feel free to mix in something positive once in awhile. You seem angry and very opinionated. This program needs support right now.

Rose is bigger than IW maybe a few 3rd and 4th down RPOs. Make the defense adjust instead of offense adjusting.

My thoughts also. Not sure Wilson’s bad habits can be changed in two weeks. Rose is more of a wildcard. If he can get rid of the ball quick and hit the back in the flat to nullify the blitz he should be the starter.

I guess that answers my question of why Huard isn’t in the picture.

Will that attitude transfer to the team or will they fight back and put BYU back in their place. My confidence level is the lowest in 15 years but I’m curious to see which team shows up. BYU is coming to RES to send a message and they will be ready to dominate early and take the crowd out. Let’s win the toss take the ball first and go down and score.

Interesting thoughts Ghost. Rose must have a big chip on his shoulder like Cam when Brewer was handed the starting job. Million dollar question “who gives us the best chance to win”. Hill will put heavy pressure on both regardless who starts. We’ve seen it the last 4 games. Can we adjust and take advantage?

Since the Utes joined the Pac12 the rivalry game became less relevant. The coaching and talent level switched to our favor. The result 9 wins in a row. We expected to win and they expected to lose.
Now the rolls are reversed. Suddenly the rivalry game is back and has meaning for both teams. For the first time in 15 years they are favored to win…[Read more]

Thanks for another good post. I agree with everything you’ve pointed out. It’s just human nature to complain about your rival when they’re winning and you’re not.
I have followed Cougarboard for a couple years and the roles were completely reversed last year. Boycott the Garffs and Utah is just buying their teams while we would never pay players…[Read more]

In 2018 the season ticket holders sold their 4 tickets right in front of my 4 season tickets to a BYU family for the Utah BYU game. They were up 20-0 at halftime. They never sat down the whole first half and were really obnoxious.
We came back the second half and when we took the lead their son who was around 14 threw his half full water bottle…[Read more]

Thanks for a positive post 89. I expect us to show up Nov. 9. I don’t get selling tickets to cougar fans. We need to show up and let the team know we’re behind them. Let’s send all the cougars fans home with their cougar tails between their legs. Go Utes

You bring up some great points byufan. I wish we had a sugar daddy to bring the BB program back to life. Before BYU was winning and we were losing cougarboard went after the Garffs saying boycott their dealerships.
It’s funny both fan bases complain about any advantage the other has and condemns it until they start winning then it’s ok. Ryan Smi…[Read more]

Rose and Huard must look really bad at practice to not get a shot when Wilson is injured and not playing great.

I don’t see him mentioned at all as a possible starter. Rose seems to be in the lead at this point. Is it possible he could surprise us all and play. Jay Hill must be licking his chops right now. Multiple turnovers.

Every defense has the blueprint for Wilson. Not enough sample size on Rose to predict. Huard is an unknown. Anyone seen him play and what his skill set is?

BYUs receivers will give us problems. They have receivers that can get open fast. We have to pressure Retzlaff or he will pick us apart. They will come out aggressive and try and score early and take the crowd out of the game. That’s Rodericks MO.

I agree Walkman make QB choice and give them the reps. Playing head games doesn’t work with QBs. If this team doesn’t get motivated for this game they shouldn’t be playing P4 football. Pressure is on them. We have nothing to lose except what little ride is left.
