Ezra is a little undersized. He struggles with taller defenders. KD better all around player.

USU star player was once a Ute (Martinez). He would have been a big help for the Utes this year. The Aggies have a great tradition and fan base. If you ever get the chance go to a USU home game. It’s a great atmosphere. The students really support the team.

There is a lot of good teams this year. Cooper Flaggs ankle could be a game changer for Duke. The tournament this year will be amazing. I’m all in on the USU Aggies. They don’t have the talent to go far but fun to root for. Hope they can get a win.

Arrogance is different depending on which side of the fence you’re on. How many years have we heard BYu fans complain about Ute fans being arrogant. I guess when you’ve been over shadowed by your rival for the past 20 years it’s understandable.
This is the first year since the Lavell era that BYU has been on the national radar in both FB and B…[Read more]

Amazing how 1 good year in football and basketball and suddenly they’re a national power. They have plenty to be excited about but the arrogance is out of control.

I apologize to all for a poorly worded post. I changed the wording after I posted and reread. Thanks Narfute for the corrections. I’m not a Majerus hater by any means. The post was meant to look at how we got to this point in Utah basketball. I have been a faithful follower of Utah BB since my dad took me to games at the old Einar Nelson field h…[Read more]

I was good friends with Shaun Greens dad and he told me Majerus quit recruiting his last year because he knew he was done. I’m not blaming Majerus at all. He left Giac with great talent but not much incoming behind them.

Narfute I stand corrected. You are right. The incoming recruits of 2004 was Majerus last recruiting year. After Bogut left the cupboard was bare. Sorry for the confusion.

Bogut was not a Majerus recruit.

Majerus sabotaged the program when he left. He knew he was leaving and quit recruiting. The cupboard was bare for the incoming coach. Biggest mistake the athletic director ever made in my opinion was not hiring Judkins to take over. Two bad coaching hires and the hole was dug.
Coach K brought the program back to respectability but the hole was…[Read more]

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Of all the players on the team, I hope Dawes sticks around. in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 months, 4 weeks ago
I wouldn’t overpay for Asur. He is undersized to make a run at the tournament. He was a star on this team. Little would be a no for me. We need a major upgrade in talent and athleticism to compete for the top four in conference. Go get Chandler from Kentucky. He is an Utah kid and was an Utah bb fan. He would be a great fit and someone to build a…[Read more]

I would keep those three for sure. Wahlin would be my only other possibility. Reasons: he’s local, he is long, and he moves well for his size. Could be a good role player for Jensen.

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Post-season game tonight and zero posts about it. in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 months, 4 weeks ago
Now you know why there is no posts. This team doesn’t have much upside. Lacks athleticism and talent. Majerus would say “ we look like the ski team “.

I hope Jensen will retain Wahlin Dawes Mike S. and Asur. They could form a good nucleus for next year. We need a point guard 2 guard and center.

That stat drives me crazy Miami. So hard to watch. Other than Azur and KD nobody else can finish at the rim. So we overpass driving. Plus our 7’0 center is either at the top of the key or can’t score posting up one on one. No double teams and the shooters are covered.

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Why is Jensen coaching the Mavs through end of year? in the forum Basketball (Men) 3 months ago
It’s going to be a crazy month for Alex. His NBA credentials will help get his foot in the door in homes Smith had no chance. Some of the parents of local kids were going to school at U in the Majerus years or followed Utah basketball. He should have no problem recruiting the best local talent. Perfect example was Chandler that was an Utah kid b…[Read more]

Yeah Chin. Mike has done surprisingly well but he is more suited as a secondary ball handler. Hope he sticks around another year. Jensen will figure out a way to use him and KD.

Good question Rick. Only Andre knows the answer. He is beloved by the community and has a chance to bring his alma mater back to relevance. Plus he and Alex are close and would work well as a team. Lots of reasons to come home. We need you Andre!!

Our point guard play has been nonexistent for many years. Andre can recruit and develop a good prospect. Both Miller and Jensen were the epitome of hard work and being great teammates. Utah basketball is finally back on track.

Utah basketball will soon be back. Hope Miller follows and we can actually recruit a point guard. Let’s get the MUSS back and support the team. Go Utes!!
