Remember Z. Moss’ freshman year, 4th and goal last play of the game and he runs straight into the back of his lineman instead of waiting for the hole to develop.  He later commented that he should have been Patient.  He is now one of the most paitent backs out there.
Good RB’s understand this patience.  Our RB’s have not yet figured this out,…[Read more]

  • First, they actually get to play, even if it’s just a few games
Second, I have zero aspirations of a conference championship due to our youth
Third, I will enjoy immensly watching the young guys develope and grow
Look forward to these guys kicking some A along the way to a seriously good year in 2 or 3.

I believe that would be considered the greatest comeback ever!  Personally I love the guy, but he’s nuts.

Earlier today I just watched the replay of the ’13 Utah OSU OT game.  T Wilson was a gamer.  He made mistakes and his arm mechanics were not good.  But that guy balled out for the Utes.  I will always respect him for that.

  • I thought I would start a thread of something we could all participate in and laugh at ourselves at the same time.  Please share a funny story from your youth involving sports.
I will share two short ones.
I was 12, playing baseball (right field).  My older brother was an assistant coach on the team.  He was always yelling at me for staring at…[Read more]

This is the 5th time total I have asked you…. you claim to not be a troll, please point to one positive post you have ever made about the football program.  If you’re a fan at all, there should at least be one.

  • pedro started the topic 125 total D1 teams in the forum Football 3 years ago

61 in P5 conferences (if I counted correctly).  Only 10 of those got to play in their conference championship.  Only 5 won.
In other words, Utah finished in the top 16%.
We all know what could’ve been and IMHO what should’ve been.  But to sit here and endlessly complain about one aspect of what our coaching staff responsabilities is…[Read more]

  • pedro replied to the topic Herm in the forum Football 3 years, 3 months ago

    I did for Herm.

  • NFL, he would have been fined 100k to 300k and suspended 2-3 games

  • I’ll do whatever the tribe wants, not what some white guy thinks the tribe wants.  I find it very condescending when others speak for me, I can only imagine how they feel. Thanks

  • We have a top 10 program that has yet to be tested
a top 10 coach that has great talent under him
a top 10 venue that is only going to get better
a very involved AD that is only trying to take what he’s hearing and improve upon it
Yet all I see on SM is complaints.  The offense is boring, the drink lines too long, the sun too hot, the…[Read more]

I’ve obviously missed something, but what happened to Green?  Haven’t seen him on the depth charts and I thought he showed a lot of potential last year.

  • pedro started the topic Francis in the forum Football 3 years, 5 months ago

I have to take my hat off to Bernard.  Not only is he playing well, but on that pick 6, I fully expected him to taunt or over celebrate or somehow earn a 15 yard unsportsmanlike mainly due to his history with the Y.  I know for me, in his shoes, I probably would have been overly tempted.  But he kept his composer and celebrated it with class and…[Read more]

I”m not sure why, but I think many of us are underestimating BYU.  I don’t think this team will though.
First, Ute fans, it’s ok to admit Wilson is a good qb.  It wasn’t just us he looked good against.  While I know he wasn’t playing a ton of power house d’s, it was still his freshman year against D1 talent.  I think he will get his shots against…[Read more]

  • We’ve seen rumblings about who Whit went after early on… and now we’re seeing rumblings of who he may be going after.
The questions are these; what would you have done different than what Whit has done and what should he do now?
IMHO, he shot for the proverbial stars and struck out.  Now he’s trying to get the best of what’s left.  Just…[Read more]

  • pedro started the topic OC search in the forum Football 4 years ago

This OC search and the difficulties of finding a flashy name should be telling us something.  Those that want to get rid  of Whit should take note.  Regardless of how you slice it or what we do on the field, Utah (the State) is a harder sell than most of us are willing to admit.
We  know Whit went after Rich Rod, we know he’s talke to Sark. …[Read more]

  • Can we PLEASE stop bashing Whit for the percieved OC troubles.  For the past 14 years, everyone has bashed the offense and in the same breath bashed Whit for going through so many OCs.  Granted a few questionable decisions were made (Mainly BJ).  But for the most part, he has tried to get legitimate folks in places to succeed.  Bash him for one or…[Read more]

  • So I got a packet in the main from the CC today but the name it’s addressed to is unfamiliar but somewhat similar to mine.  I then recalled reading somewhere recently that they had an issue with their annual gift, but to be honest, I didn’t care and moved on.  Can anyone share what that error or issue was so I know whether this envelope was…[Read more]

This week we have seen first hand why we go into a slump every year….. injuries.  Say what you will, but we still don’t have the depth we need to play in the PAC week in and week out.  Every class we get better, but we’re not there yet.
