The road trips would be more palatable, at least for me.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Tyler Huntley signs with Dolphins in the forum NFL 9 months, 1 week ago
As a long-time Dolphin fan, I love this move. Huntley is way better than Thompson and it wouldn’t surprise me if Huntley plays against Seattle this Sunday if Thompson isn’t effective. Huntley grew up in Dania Beach 20 minutes from Hard Rock Stadium so it’s a homecoming for him.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic What I liked about Wilson's play yesterday in the forum Football 9 months, 1 week ago
I had a front-row seat to that throw and it was one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. It’s essentially undefendable. Only a very talented QB can make throws like that and shows the promise Wilson has.

Totally agree…if it wasn’t for Barnes air mailing some of his throws…well…

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Jerome Myles in the forum Football 9 months, 1 week ago
I’m not certain NIL plays a large role on whether Myles goes to USC or not. Besides what I’ve heard Riley say about NIL and how it’s used at USC, I know a couple of guys that are involved in House of Victory, the USC NIL collective, that have told me that they reserve their large NIL payouts for guys that have already proven themselves in college…[Read more]

And I’m impressed. Paid $15 for parking steps from the stadium entrance and their concessions set-up, as far as convenience, is streets better than what’s available at RES.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Arizona vs Kansas State in the forum Football 9 months, 1 week ago
Quick anecdote…if Utah would have won that USC game, they would have been undefeated going into the CCG that they lost to Oregon. That loss to Oregon, to me, is still the bitterest loss I’ve ever experienced as an Ute fan. And I had the misfortune to drag my 11 and 9 year old daughters to that game.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic UNLV vs. KU: Having a hard time not cheering for the Rebels in the forum Football 9 months, 1 week ago
I have zero loyalty or empathy for the Big XII and, in cases like this, always root for the underdog. Especially a long time conference partner. As some old-timers here probably remember, UNLV came close to getting KW fired due to a beating they administered to Utah in 2007 (won 27-0). Go Rebels!

I can’t wait for this version of the Wildcats to show up at Rice-Eccles. We’re going to have a few surprises for them on defense.

That Texas loss was due to the psychological blow of losing the CCG to Oregon. If Utah had won the CCG, they would have been in the CFP. Instead, they ended playing a highly motivated Texas team in the Alamo Bowl. It’s essentially the same reason Utah blew the doors off Alabama in the Jan 2009 Sugar Bowl. Bama had just lost the CCG to Florida…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Utah State Aggies in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
Charlie, I love your stuff but I have to disagree on the 28-0 halftime score. Utah State is way more talented than SUU and we saw how Wilson did there. Granted, it was his first college game but I would have liked to have seen more consistency and accuracy from Wilson. The Aggies already have a defensive game plan if Wilson’s the starter. They…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Backup qb situation in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
Jim, come on now. Remember that line about lies, damned lies, and statistics? Just look at Rising’s two TD passes against Baylor. One was a shovel pass where Parks did all of the work and the order was helped tremendously by having the drive start at the Baylor 3 yard line. If you’re insinuating that we’re cooking with kerosene because,…[Read more]

My concern isn’t really with Utah’s performance but rather how good other top teams have looked. I think that Utah’s defense, provided everyone’s healthy and Scalley has a good game plan, can keep them in any game against just about every team. The issue is the offense and whether it can get in sync against top defenses. I’d sure like to think…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Cam shouldn't play Saturday (even if available) in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
Not sure if you’re being ironic but, having watched both games, I have to disagree. He’s certainly not at the level of pre-injury 2022.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Cam shouldn't play Saturday (even if available) in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
If Cam doesn’t play at all versus the Aggies, he will only have played three quarters and some change this entire football season. If his injury is minimal and he’s ready to go, he has to get some snaps prior to traveling to Stillwater.

The Miami Ute started the topic New AP Poll in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
As I predicted, both Miami and USC jumped over Utah after their victories this weekend. Utah remains at #11 even though logic and precedent should have propelled them into the Top 10.
