I’ve been thinking about this a lot.

Phones have changed things. I’m not sure for the better.

Phones make doing nothing too easy. Have homework to do? You sit down and open instagram. Have chores to do? It’s too easy to scroll Reddit. And so on.

There is so much value in being bored. Being bored is when you think. Think about your day. What…[Read more]

  • BYU went into the Big 12 on their knees and stroked everyone’s ego.

It’s what those people do. Building trust and all that. Lie about who they really are.

Wait until Colorado is up 35-10 at the end of the third and then Colorado wins 49-35 and has to hear about how BYU would have beat them if the game was 5 mins longer…

    Their true inten…[Read more]

  • This is nonsense.

We boos players in Philly if they play like shit. The players know that. And yet, we worship you if you succeed.

And Philly has no trouble signing players. Bryce Harper, Paul George, Saquan Barkley…all absolute stars who just signed in Philly.

Aaron Nola, who has been booed a lot, took less money to stay in Philly. Rhys H…[Read more]

They are afraid of everything. Long hair, beards, two girls, rainbows, alcohol, staying up past midnight, and so on.

Scalley was right in how he described them.

I mean…yes? We know the OC issues are 100% Whitt related.

That being said, it sound like Whitt has picked an OC that actually fits what he wants to do:

Run the QB, run the ball, big strong backs who can wear down the opposing defense and protect his defense.

I think Beck, while not the biggest name, is a great fit for what Whitt wants to do.

Like I said earlier, I’ll never fault someone for taking care of themselves. And the system sucks.

But fuck em. I don’t have to like them either. Especially this kid. 3 star kid, not a star. Goes on a mission. Most schools tell kids like this to fuck off. Utah doesn’t. Stays in contact. Works with him. Has a system in place to get his body right…[Read more]

What I’ve learned doing business around the country and especially in Utah:

If they talk about their Jesus or scriptures or have “light the world” bullshit or scriptures posted around…

Those are the snakes. Those are the ones that are in it for themselves and while they may do the job you pay them to do, it will be bare minimum and they will…[Read more]

  • Get used to it. With the money and the separation of the SEC/Big 10 from the rest of us…they are just better than us.

And the odds of a non-SEC/B1G team winning three games in a row…are pretty close to zero.

Kids don’t play anymore to compete or win or become a legend. They play to make money and go to the NFL. Having a kid wanting to go…[Read more]

I will never fault anyone for doing what is best for them. Never. But this system is utter bullshit. What a fucking joke.

So a kid comes in, gets every opportunity to shine, isn’t great, and then instead of improving and fighting after the coaches and fans backed him all year just bails when he isn’t handed more opportunities?

    Cool. Good luck man.

  • Why is it weird? I don’t care about ND. Indiana is a school that isn’t great.

I mean, do I need to watch to know that ND will win? Hell, I didn’t watch, I don’t know what the final score is, and yet I know that ND won.

Finally, college football isn’t fun to watch. Too many commercials, clock runs too much, takes 4 hours to watch about 15…[Read more]

  • A real darkhorse?

Well that eliminates ASU, Boise St, Indiana, SMU.

They don’t have the depth to win 3+ games in a row vs blue bloods.

    The real darkhorse?

Penn St. They have the easiest path. SMU then Boise? Give me a break. Then they get Georgia after ND gives them a tough game?

But the winner will be Georgia, Texas or Oregon/Ohio S…[Read more]

  • I didn’t know it was this weekend. I assumed it would start over NYE weekend.

Huh. Guess I don’t care that much.

Going with this…it’s not so much the degree that is better…it’s the networking.

If you go to Cal, sit in your dorm and play video games all day…then your degree is no different than Utah’s.But if you meet people, get off your phone and get to know people…

Then your networking is better at Cal, especially depending on your career and if…[Read more]

  • Utah replied to the topic Riddle me this… Uteman! in the forum Football 4 months, 1 week ago

When Whitt won’t allow the QB to throw the ball outside to WR’s, or more than 7 yards unless it’s off play action, you get very easy to defend.

The problem with the offense is Whittingham, because no matter who the OC is, we have the same problems.

  • Man, I remember those early days in the PAC-12. I’d look at every team in the conference. Who is coming back, who is leaving, who had young players who look like they could be great. I’d rewatch games on the PAC-12 network. Get magazines, listen to podcasts, etc.

USC, Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Stanford, Cal, the Arizona schools…all great…[Read more]

Competition. That is what I want. Iron sharpens iron and all that awesomeness. I want two guys who want to battle it out so if one goes down another is ready. I want two guys who improve all spring and push each other to get better.

The better competition we have, the better football team we will have.

And I want the one who played better to…[Read more]
