Makes sense to recruit and offer great local LDS athletes, even if they indicate they want to serve a mission (usually after playing one year).

Of course in the NIL $$$$$ era, far fewer players are playing their entire career with one school.

Can’t remember the last time I made use of the ignore feature on this board but felt that was the sensible thing to do in this situation.

My interactions with visiting fans from our new conference foes including Baylor, TCU, Iowa State, Texas Tech, and others have been nothing but pleasant. Visiting fans who visit the Hunty and Rice-Eccles will realize the horror stories they have heard from Zoobs are not accurate at all.

Said a few times, going from MWC to PAC was a massive upgrade. From PAC to Big12 was a drop off in football, but arguably a small upgrade in hoops.

Biggest issue I have is teams are so spread out and the championship venues are now much longer a 6 hours drive down I-15 to Sin City. Of course potentially going to Big10 just puts us with many teams even further away.

I lived through a 2-19 stretch and survived (and it was not a dream).

I too feel the worst part of NIL is a school can develop a promising young player, investing coaching and other resources into his improvement, then have a big name team with lots of NIL cash grab him away.

Will always remember Hunter’s OT trey against his former team to help us beat BYU and will remember his work ethnic. Had some rough games, but always played with maximum effort. Wish him well.

Given he’ll very likely be starting and getting consistent minutes, will be a major contributor and an exciting part of next year’s team.
