Meanwhile I have UCLA circled. Was the 2 LA schools that bailed on the PAC so they could be 2000 miles away from most of their conference and led to the entire west becoming a fustercluck.

A few years ago high profile Heaps signed with TDS, boasting he would take a victory formation knee 4 times against Utah and lead BYU to a natty. Didn’t quite live up to those predictions.

I received an email thanking me for loyalty, energy, support, etc. in the past which included a new pricing map. Implied renewal information would come out in a few weeks.

Brutal price increase for some of us. Would be nice to have a few respectable pre-season opponents.

Wish the Cal Poly game was a bit later as September games under the lights are usually quite pleasant, but 4PM is usually much better than high noon that time of the year.

Said a few times that USC and Utah had many memorable exciting close games, lots of them settled in the closing seconds, with both teams enjoying their share of being on the happy side of the scoreboard.

Sadly may not see them face each other again for some time.

While 2 teams with rather low odds of being drawn (Mavs about 1.5% and Spurs about 6%) got first couple picks, it really wasn’t that unlikely for Jazz to not pull out at all. (Something like 47%).

Tanking is foolishly optimistic and rather bad mathematics.

Not going to waste any time at all watching what was once an entertaining product back in the glory years of Stockton, Malone, Hornacek, and others (and even Mitchell and Gobert were fun to watch recently) until they actually try to put a winning product on the floor and play the best players once in a while.

But looking forward to see what Alex can do and will be at the Hunty next season.

Still annoys me that it wasn’t a ‘football play’ but rather an unnecessary deliberate attempt to put him out of the game.

2 things Utah has done very well over the years

      1. Recruit players ‘under the radar’ and develop them over a few years into great contributors, often ready to play on Sunday.

      2. Players that play here a few years, get a feel for a ‘family’ type atmosphere and bond together as a unit.

NIL sort of ruins both of these. A rising star heads to another school for a bigger paycheck. (Hell I would likely do the same if I was around 20)

Great athlete, but certainly not lacking in confidence.

May be in for a rude awakening (and perhaps get a bit of humility) when he starts playing in the pros.
