ParticipantIt will be interesting to see how Davis and Whittemore are interchanged…Creed’s got some impressive speed, Ryan’s got a better grasp on the offense. Wonder if we’ll start to see some more empty sets to get both on the field.
Totally agree with Charlie – it will be fun to see where Nate and Hunter pop up during a given game. As long as we don’t get super predictable with their use, they could add some intrigue to the offense without being relegated to gadgets.

ParticipantFor a few years there, it felt like Lud was going to commit to a TE heavy offense…not sure what happened. Kuithe (before we went down last season) should have been a huge security blanket for IW/whomever was playing QB, but it felt like he was rarely given a chance. The rest of the TE room was largely ignored and/or had a tough time making the catch when they were targeted. Given the success of Kinkaid and Kuithe during the Rising years, the lack of TE recruiting felt like a huge lost opportunity.

Participantwe. need. a. new. special. teams. coordinator.
Honestly, I’m ambivalent about Shah as a DB/CB coach (and could care less about the real housewives drama). But Special Teams used to be a strong point for Utah, and now we can’t even get a kicker who can give us consistent touchbacks or design coverage schemes to prevent multiple runbacks for TDs.

ParticipantThe ankle scooter and fact that his fingers were *still* taped during the Iowa State game doesn’t seem to indicate health

ParticipantI suspect the lack of other prospects drove that decision. While he was put in a tough spot, his failure to progress as the season wore on was pretty glaring.
I’m hopeful that Beck’s more straightforward offense will allow all of the QBs (Wilson included) to process a bit more quickly, and generally be more decisive.

ParticipantThat’s a pretty strong allegation (and there doesn’t seem to be anything online about it). Is this just a rumor, or has it been validated?

ParticipantI can only hope that fans will pressure the NCAA (or possibly legislative intervention) to create some sort of correction in the next couple of years. I can definitely envision a salary cap for the school contributions, and perhaps some sort of combined cap for all $$ associated with a team and/or a requirement that there be a demonstrable quid pro quo for NIL that minimizes the uncontrolled collective $$ (ie, you get paid to be in a commercial, be in a video game, sign merch, but you can’t get paid just to be there).
I’m even cool with something like the Ken Garff truck lease thing, as it had some tangible upside for the donor (the trucks were plastered with Garff logos).
