I was out this morning running errands and listened to the local media.  What a difference a week makes.  We are now seen as the top team in the PAC 12.  Last week we were a pretender.  We played a great game on Saturday night, but we are the same team we were a week ago.  I thought the offense (except for penalties) executed quite well against USC.  My thoughts right after the USC game was that if we played them again tomorrow, we would win.

Two weeks ago BYU was seen as one of the best teams in the west by the media and Sitake was an amazing coach.  Now, well you know …

We tend to get too high when things go well and get way too low when we have a sloppy game.  The media exaggerates this every Monday.  We had a great game Saturday night, but we still have some issues which other coaches will try to exploit and if Huntley goes down, it will be a big challenge going forward.

Enjoy the ride and for me I am going to try to avoid the highs and lows.  I don’t see any game as a gimme and I realize every team is out to get us.

      Go Utes!!!

IMHO, we dominated USC in everything but big plays and points. It definitely felt like a fluke. I think the Utes are a very good team, that has every opportunity to get back to the champ game.

The answer is yes. Sports fans and sports media (who are really just sports fans) are emotional, not logical. That’s why we like sports – it’s an emotional release.
