An alternate proposal for the number 22

  I have heard the ideas that Utah should either retire the number 22 or make it the official jersey of fans. I think both are reasonable ideas, but propose another solution.
  
  What if Utah made wearing the number 22 an honorary? My idea is that before every game a player would be chosen to wear 22. It would be similar to being given the game ball, and could be voted on by the team leadership council. This way, the number and memory of those that wore it would never be forgotten. Every game from this moment forward Utah would have a #22 take the field. 22 would represent the best Utah has to offer, and could never be lost again because no single individual would ever be 22.
  
  Thoughts? I’m curious how others feel about the idea.

  Cool idea, but I think it would be tough with certain jersey numbers traditionally being worn in certain positions. I tried to look it up and didn’t see many hard and fast rules regarding jersey numbers, but I still think it would be weird to see a QB wearing 22.
