    I dunno. I think also it probably depends on his draft grade. Tailbacks are not a hot commodity in the NFL anymore.

      From what I understand, he has a couple mouths to feed so he’s thinking he might go even if he has a low draft grade. If he can make it to the NFL, he can start making some money now, even if it’s not as much as he could if he waits a year.

    I can barely imagine him with a full year of strength and conditioning along with proper nutrition. He will be a monster next season if he stays.

      There were a couple plays in the PAC Championship game where he got immediately chopped down by Sewell. While Sewell is an absolute beast, and while Tavion runs with a lot of power, I do agree that he needs some more work.
      
      He could be really, really good with an off-season in Utah’s S&C program. Think Moss’s senior year, possibly better though.

        Sewell just grabbing a 220lb man and dumping him with no leverage multiple times was insane. That isn’t weight room strength.

  He will likely improve his draft stock by staying a year. But, if he is projected in the top 4 rounds – he should go.
  
  I would love to have him in the RB room next season. But, we will have a couple of young studs in there.

    Problem with being projected in the mid-rounds is a player may slip to the late rounds and/or go undrafted. Even in the mid-rounds it can be a battle to earn a spot on an NFL roster. I am biased as a Ute fan, but I hope he stays. The Utes should be ranked pretty high, and as such his name will get out there for some award watch lists, which should really boost his draft prospects.

    Out of curiosity I checked CBS to see who the top RBs for this draft class were.
    
    Isaiah Spiller – 39th overall
    
    Breece Hall – 58th overall
    
    Kryen Williams – 85th overall
    
    Kenneth Walker – 95th overall
    
    Not sure that I see Tavion being picked ahead of any of these guys, but he could still fall within the first 4 rounds in my opinion. I think with a decent Rose Bowl and good combine showing he could get there. Right now if I had to guess I think he’s leaning toward going. That is pure speculation on my part, though.

  I think he does stay. Whitt has said many times that Tavian still needs work with catching out of the back field and pass pro. These are two things NFL scouts view as a must for their RBs. Any RB that will be taken with a pick I mean…… I’m sure Tavian wants to get paid. But, does he go the DL route, spend one more year developing on a possible playoff contending team and boost his stock ? Personally o think he will. Obviously I wouldn’t be shocked if he left. But, I think he needs one more year. I also expect Kincaid back.

  We have seen players go to early that would have benefited from another year in school. For the most part, odds are much better with multiple good years rather than one. Bolles was an exception, Bam will have to make a single year work. First team all Pac will get a chance to prove themselves, second team has reduced odds, honorable mention is an adventure. I hope there will be something in NIL that will help him bridge his needs while he spends another year at Utah that could very well get him into the first round. He could get the bump up that Lloyd has had being a featured player beginning in preseason.
