      Because reasons basically.

      “the mindset that this team…”

      “physicality…”

      “cohesive…”

That is classic player speak. It’s the equivalent of teammates “flying around” in football.

LOLZ… I mean, the team probably will be a little better this year. We got rid of Battin finally, so that’s an automatic plus… but the only thing that would really make this team better (short of adding a true #1 scoring option) is adding someone that can actually shoot from three consistently. That has to be the easiest skill to find among high school players in the state of Utah, and yet, we didn’t sign a single player that is known for being a knock down shooter.

We HE be any better? Every season I expect him to make some kind of jump to a new level. Maybe hit the weight room and bulk up. Stuff like that. Haven’t really seen a sizeable progression IMO.

They will be better, don’t know how far they will climb in the conference standings. Carlson is the only center in the 15 member first and second team preseason all conference teams. I like his backup Keita. They both run the floor quite well. We did not see Anthony who is key to the team. We have not seen Tarlac to see if he will figure in this year. Baxter seems to still need to work his injury out but he killed last year’s team when he played against us. I do expect this year will be more pleasant than last year’s team.

Based on the body of work so far, I’d say he’s right. This is definitely a better team than last year. The question is how much did the rest of the conference improve?

It’s hard to be worse than last year. I expect them to be better as well. But that statement is not saying much.
