D T
ParticipantBummer IMO.

ParticipantI liked him. He had 3 catches and 1 TD last year and 14 catches and 3 TD’s the year before.

ParticipantFeel bad for him he waisted two years playing for a team with no QB and now get an OC who doesn’t throw to the TE.
Struggled with drops in practice.
He’d make an amazing catch in traffic and then jump a couple of easy ones.

ParticipantBlessing in disguise imo. He would run the completely wrong route. Maybe I should give him the benefit of the doubt but I just don’t think he has the head for Football.

ParticipantI accidentally let this slip on here about a week ago …
Landen botched his opportunities this spring. Started spring strong then digressed really badly through spring. Drops were a major issue with him and the coaches lost trust.
He never took advantage of the opportunities given and younger players (Hunter Andrews) emerged and took his reps.
On paper this I seems like a loss (no it’s not) but this isn’t a surprise to anyone in the building.

ParticipantAfter his mediocre spring ball performance, and given that Beck doesn’t utilize TE’s much, I don’t think this is a huge loss. He was also never able to bulk up to the needed weight. As it stands, he’s 6’5” 232. He’s always had a tweener build like Kuithe, but was never able to become a big part of the offense like Kuithe. Obviously that wasn’t All his fault. 2023 and 2024 obviously were terrible years for us offensively due to Cam’s injuries, but even with that taken into account, he’s done nothing special. Vaki in 2023 was able to, halfway through the season, be a much more impactful member of the offense than King ever was. Good players shine regardless of their circumstances. If King was truly a good TE, he would have more contributions than he had. I am curious to see where he goes though. I can’t imagine many P4 teams will take him as a TE unless they desperately need bodies.

Participant22,
I can’t wait until you have to shut up about Beck using his tight ends.

ParticipantI wish him well. I hope he finds a match for his abilities.

ParticipantCouldn’t put it together mentally, ran the wrong routes, concentration drops. Has all the athletic tools in the world though.

ParticipantI am sad to see him go, but could this be a mutual decision that would help him get more playing time and free up a spot for the team. I don’t know anything, but this would not surprise me.

ParticipantInteresting. I read that he put a ‘do not contact’ on his portal entry which indicates they don’t want to be contacted directly by coaches or programs. Not sure why you would enter the portal and do that unless he is looking to maybe come back?
I also saw that Otto Tia was moved from WR to TE. Not sure if this is true but is what I read in an article.

Participant“Do not contact” means they don’t want to be contacted by schools as a destination is already lined up.

ParticipantMakes sense. Thanks hB

ParticipantYep, pretty much means they already know where they’re going, so there’s no need for anyone to reach out.
But that would be impossible since they can’t be contacted unless they’re in the portal, because no one tampers…. lol

ParticipantYep, didn’t take long for his destination program to be finalized.
According to 247 it is 100% that he is transferring to Duke.
