  I swear they have no idea how the actual game of football works. I am watching game from last year and we had several plays, the majority, out of 4-5 receiver sets, including having Moeai and Handley on at the same time, and the local hacks are acting like Taylor’s offense, which uses these sets, is something that Utah cannot run and that this is a complete sea change from pro style, which they argue we ran almost exclusively, to this spread offense attack. Morons.

  They’re selling hope to Shoehorn U. The flagship school gets such faint support. Usually local writers have to be top kool aid consumers to keep their jobs. Utah is a weird state.

  I was thinking the same thing the other day. We ran a pro-style offense under Chow but you would have to go back to McBride in the 90’s to see us in a pro-style.

      But they know that Ty “freaking” Detmer’s 1970’s offensive schemes will pave the way to the CFP. After all, it worked in a tiny HS church league.

  Utah has run some form of spread since Urban has been here. The thing with the spread is it covers a variety of formations, personnel and concepts.

  I don’t know why anyone gives Monson or local radio hacks the time of day. They are terrible and will never change. I simply don’t listen or read to anything they do and it’s wonderful. Plenty of other content out there that’s much more professional and well informed.

  I’ve stopped listening to any station that covers both the Utah and BYU, it just drives me crazy. From the journalism side I refuse to click on an article with a headline that include both Utes and Cougars as a way of doubling the number of readers. Monson and Kragthorpe are the worst offenders on that one.
