Cold in Dallas for bowl game

  Looks like a cold front is coming through around Christmas and highs will only be around 40 outside at the Cotton Bowl on game day. Probably dry but don’t be expecting 70 degree weather for those coming down.

  Sounds like reasonable weather for the day after Christmas. Hopefully, the cold weather focus’s the players to be hitting like they did vs Colorado.

        Offensively, I still look for them to be good. Not as good as with the missing players, but good. Defensively, they’re still a liability.

        Missing our starting running back isn’t a big deal. We are DEEP at RB this year. Yes we lost Crawford, but scouts were unanimous over the last two seasons that Kennedy McKoy was a better overall running back. He graded out over 20 points higher than Crawford in both years. McKoy has rushed for over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns on fewer than 200 carries over his first two years. He is a VERY capable backup.
        
        Losing our starting QB IS a big deal, likely disastrous. Chuganov isn’t necessarily a bad QB, it’s just that Grier is on a whole different level.

    Me too. The bowl game is where I lost confidence in ARod. You get two chances to make big improvements every year: Bowl Practice and Spring Ball. Fall camp is more for fine tuning.
    
    I expect Huntley, Taylor and Moss to be in much more sync after the bowl practices. Same with the OL.
    
    With WVU’s defense and their offense down their best two players, I want to see us win by two scores or more and have the game never really feel in doubt.

  This cold front has got to be the most hyped thing in the media in these parts. It has been unseasonably warm this month, so really this cold air mass is just going to drop temperatures a bit below seasonal averages, and in places like Dallas it will seem “really cold’, partly because it has been so warm lately. And for a bowl game it will be cold, temps around 40, something the Utes should be used to, however.

  Not unusual for a WVU bowl game to be cold. We had frost in Miami the night of the Orange Bowl. I wore my coat all game long for both game in Orlando 2010 and 2016. We had frost and the Florida fans were freezing to death in New Orleans in 93 for the Sugar Bowl. We had frost every night in 88 for the Fiesta Bowl. Nashville was 10 degrees for the Music City bowl in 2000. Those were all games that I have attended. In games that I did not attend – Birmingham in 83 was played sleet. And in 87 the final quarter of the Sun Bowl was played in the snow.
