“Mediocre” Browning at five what does that make Huntley?

Credit @jrj84105 for posting this earlier. Utah doesn’t win another game the rest of the season with Huntley at QB.  At this point just the potential of something better outweighs the risks of more mistakes from the new QB.

This is quickly becoming my stance. Troy should have been our QB last year. I’m just not sure Huntley should’ve been recruited at all. Shelley could have taken over this year for all we know.

Slightly better than Chip Kelly’s offensive genius at fUCLA is all you need to read into those stats. Considerably less better than Oregon st and Cal. Two teams we are “unfortunate to not play” this season.

Battleground and grim metal are ridiculous (won’t win another game with Huntley; Huntley shouldn’t even been recruited).  Do you realize how stupid you look and sound?  You two need to find a sport you understand because this one isn’t working for you.

Yeah it isn’t Huntley it is something else I am sure. He is NFL in the making. Can’t even do a three step drop you tell me I don’t know f**king football? We have a QB that can only throw on the run?  Good  luck with that.

Didn’t realize 7 win seasons were the goal around here, Distantute. Name three things Huntley has been responsible for since being here. Three things that have put us on the map. Nothing? Alright.

It’s as if you love watching this underachieving mess/system. Which would probably put your football IQ below mine.

I assume they’ve had opportunities in spring and fall camp and they didn’t produce.

You assume? Well, I would bet you assume wrong. If you think Whit benched a senior returning starter to sacrifice a full season with a true Sophomore, only to then give a redshirt freshman and a true freshman a fair shot to unseat that now junior returning starter he invested in . . . I have to ask: how many MLMs have you been a part of?

Based on practice reports from literally everyone Huntley was better than Shelley and Tuttle. Also, screw you and your ad hominem bull s**t when I’m trying have a reasonable discussion. Ass.

Chill out, Sally. The dig was based on your dismissive reply. But considering how hot that made you, I’m guessing you’ve lost more than a few dollars on MLMs.

It was t dismissive. It was an honest statement. I dont know if they’ve been given opportunities in spring and fall camp. I can only assume. As such, I said I’m assuming that. I could have made an affirmative statement but then I’d be speaking without knowledge.

And no, I’ve lost 0 in MLMs. I don’t have the money to blow on that nonsense. Your dismissiveness is what bothered me.

They both committed and signed with Utah and campaigned to get players to come with them.

They both earned a 2 and 3 spot in practice.

They both play behind a QB who is 2 int to 4 TD ratio in 2018 and is 8-5 all time or has a 2-5 PAC12 record. To be fair he was DNP for three other PAC12 games. To be even less fair he was injured early against Zona at home Williams doesn’t get credit for that win.

Backup QB is the most popular position on the team. If you take out the drops, Huntley is completing 70% of his passes and has limited TOs.

Is he perfect? No. But he is our best option to win games. We can start a true freshman, or Shelley who has played fewer P5 downs than I have fingers.

We’ll beat Wazzu. In the words of Aaron Rodgers “R-E-L-A-X”.

So if you bring Tuttle or Shelley in and WRs are still dropping balls left and right, would you agree that the problem is larger than just the QB?

Each QB was given reps with the 1s in fall camp  — Huntley earned his spot. Unless you are an insider and viewing practices, you don’t have all the info to make the decision to bench a QB.

WRs need to catch balls, Taylor needs to call more designed runs, Moss needs to get healthy. Huntley needs to perform better, too. All I’m suggesting is that simply benching Huntley isn’t the silver bullet for fixing the offense.

If the WRs drop passes from Shelley or Tuttle, then yes, I would agree the problem is larger than just the QB. In fact, I already agree on that point. Troy Taylor, his offense, and his play calling are quite possibly the largest parts of the problem.

I think it would have been smart to play Tuttle a series or 2 every game to see what he has and what he can do in live action. Much like what Clemson has done with their freshman QB, who had shown better than the incumbent and is now named the starter.
With the new redshirt rules we could have done this and still redshirted Tuttle had he shown in live game action if he was ready or not
