Here’s to a better upcoming year and the wisdom to know that sorrow and happiness are each due their time, and neither ought to be deferred. Best wishes

There are rumors that are trying to create rumors to try to get him in the portal and transfer to TDS. And anyway, someone posting loyalty is now dumb until the portal closes on the 28th.
There needs to be rules on poaching that are enforceable, but the NCAA is dead in the water. They have no ability to do anything and lose court cases left and…[Read more]

DataUte replied to the topic Conjecture: Why the Utah coaches may have been willing to let Tanuvasa go… in the forum Football 4 months, 4 weeks ago
Many schools are starting to ‘slot’ certain positions into the budget and I think the best way is to then offer incentives based on performance that you collect after the season. But if another school comes in with an exception or has a different approach (spend more to poach), then it’s a hard game to play and not zero sum.

Don’t we have a GM now? Not sure it is this guy, but most programs now have a GM between the AD and FB HC/staff to manage this stuff. But there could absolutely be a disconnect (technically, the coaches shouldn’t be involved in NIL, but they have to be).

Snowden never made a ‘Utah man am I’ post. Stop believing the chicken littles on twitter (not saying he’s staying, but he didn’t delete a twitter post that he never made)

Not fully. But it’s still fun to watch whomever is on the field sporting the uniform once all the recruiting, NIL, and transfers settle. So much noise and turmoil, but once the team is together, get the most out of them, hopefully with the fewest injuries possible, and see what happens.

Coach class tickets to Puerto Vallarta + hotel (ok, using points), and some snorkeling, but not until February when I’m more sick of the cold.
I think Santa is also bringing a new home office chair. That’s at least what I asked him for.

Good post Pedro. Whitt has limited funds and has to divide the money between a lot of players. They evaluate the players and pay is based on value to the program. They can’t over pay (Rising) or someone else gets shorted. Salary caps keep NFL and NBA competitive. MLB has a similar problem with no cap. Until there is an equal playing field we w…[Read more]

On my wish list is that the football team has a far smaller number of season ending injuries!
Perhaps second on the list is they reduce the price of season tickets and CC fees. HAHAHAHAHA THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
GO UTES

I guess the only thing that matters is. Do we trust the coaching staff ?

It has been a tough last 4 months for me, and I assume many of you feel the same. But, it’s just football. I have placed way too much of my happiness in how Utah football goes. I drank the kool-aid. (My mistake. I know better.)
Overall, my life is great, and I will spend the holiday with all but two of my wonderful grandchildren. It doesn’t…[Read more]

The net effect seems to be that the top talent will play, but the next-most talented will bounce to another playing opportunity, instead of patiently being a backup.
Therefore the top talent is spread thin at the the top. you don’t have schools backlogging studs, as they will be Portalling, looking for opportunties.
Effectively, the top talent…[Read more] -

I miss Loboman (formerly of uf.n). He was a great supporter of our Utes, when we went to beat Alabama.
Sad to see the Lobos so decimated by the current football world. Hope they can rebound soon and be competitive again. -

Here’s what we know…we know that college football, under a certain set of guidelines, has been wildly popular for over a hundred of years. In fact, at one time college football was much more popular than professional football.
Here’s what we don’t know…we don’t know if professionalizing college football will expand or even maintain its…[Read more]

Reality is Whit is working with a limited amount of funds. You see our AD was busy trying to increase our revenue in dimes from our fans, when he should have been working the philanthropist for dollars. Now we’re scrambling to make up our loses and it won’t happen this year, or even next. To be frank, may not happen until we get a new AD andor president

Love this take. I’ve said it for the past several years. Why are we paying these athletes and giving them so much attention. I wish the big donors at all the schools would get together and start donating to sciences, math, medicine, etc…
