Have you seen Diego Pavia’s (Vanderbilt QB) suit against the NCAA? Really interesting…he’s trying to make the case that age or time-related eligibility requirements in NCAA competitions are unconstitutional. If he won, which is not a given, it could mean that a guy like Cam Rising could keep playing, should he want to, at the U forever without…[Read more]

Based on the selection criteria the Big 12 still seems like the best path to the CFP for Utah right now. I have confidence that things will be righted. The defense is still a top in the country and Utah just needs an average offense to be very competitive.
Right now I think the Big 12 would love to see a CU vs BYU conference championship game.…[Read more]

that’s an interesting coping technique. why even have a season? just let the fans decide the outcome they want and then there’s no reason to play the games.

I left all the BIg12 online groups back in September and have never looked back as they weren’t much better than CB. Way too much of a BYU representation and many of them seem to want Utah to be the most hated team in the conference. I’ve noted here before that with all the ‘beer’ stories, the biggest disappointment some fans may have when…[Read more]

Ghost, or anyone else who might know:
What’s up with the reported “team chemistry” issues with Wilson? Is he playable at this point, both due to this supposed issue and his health? I’m hoping these things have been blow out of proportion by the rumor mill, especially since he is one of our two remaining QBs for the year.

It’s so true. If Rising (I know I know) stays healthy OR we had brought in a competent veteran QB transfer, very good chance we’d be like 8-1. R E L A X

I’m not putting Retzlaff up for the Heisman. I’m saying that if he has another year of eligibility, I like the parochial school’s QB situation better Utah’s. Sitake has followed the Whitt model to a T. He’s got a strong, opportunistic Defense. His special teams are solid. And he’s got a QB who doesn’t wilt under pressure against the best D he…[Read more]

I’m not from SLC, I just started living here five years ago when I fully retired. In fact, the only time I lived in Utah before that, was the 18 months I spent in grad school at the U a quarter century ago. And you’re right, it’s nothing compared to Miami, Atlanta, Madrid, the Bay Area, Amman, Beirut, Riyadh, Kuwait City, Rome, and a bunch of…[Read more]

1) I’m grateful that I made you laugh. Bringing joy to people in football poverty is a #blessing
2) We’re so immature, I get it. Oftentimes we result to religious bigotry because we have literally nothing else to cling to. p.s. I’m not mormon, but if you’d like to make allusions to me being offended by the “temple square” stuff, go for…[Read more]

It surely isn’t Mormons as a group. I would venture that the majority of Ute fans here are devout Mormons or have some connection to the LDS Church but they don’t engage in the shenanigans that the BYU fanbase does.

I will tell you this…after Saturday’s game, I’ve been perusing several Big 12 YouTube channels (Baylor, K State, Locked on Big 12, etc..) that focused on the aftermath of the Holy War and, well, let me just call it what it is, I was shocked at the number of BYU fans on those channels who, instead of talking about their own team, all they did was…[Read more]

Just to clarify, what is ‘that group’, ‘bad group that does bad things’?
– Mormons
– Believers of the religion
– BYU fans which mostly profess to be one of the above (‘byu fan base’ mentioned in Kellso post) -

I’m not sold on Retzlaff. He was horrible last year and last weekend versus Utah. Is he serviceable? Yeah, I guess so…but he’s not carrying the team on his back ala a Cam Rising or Caleb Williams…a guy like him has plenty of unfixable holes that can be exploited no matter his experience.

Nurse also said he had special orthopedic inserts and didn’t really care for UA’s cleats.

Let’s not start that again. Utah need to at least finish their humble pie before it’s fans start demanding respect not yet earned.
If it wasn’t obvious before, it should be now. College football is a QB driven game. Iowa State and K State will be bringing back junior QB’s with plenty of starting experience. TCU just needs to figure out their…[Read more]

Absolutely. As you say, no dominant team exists in the Big 12. Any or all could go winless or undefeated. UCF is sitting on a veritable recruiting gold mine. So is Houston. ASU close to it, not only because of the huge Phoenix area, but because of their proximity and history with SoCal recruits…any of those teams gets their stuff together,…[Read more]
