Plus they are playing a 3-4 team so they won’t get much respect there.

It won’t happen against better competition. If they do happen to get into the CFP, more than likely they will play a team or teams that won’t let them get lucky. However, they are having a lot of success with their former Ute coaches! That tells me IMO, Sitake has allowed them all to coach how they best believe will help the team win and trust…[Read more]

There absolutely can be a Urban Meyer waiting to come to Utah. However, are the odds better or worse than 10%? We could take the chance and repeat until we find one. Would the chance of talking Urban into returning to Utah be better than finding another Urban? Could the odds of finding a quality OC be better than finding a better HC? Even with our…[Read more]

If we played with the same energy BYU plays with, we’d be pretty good. We don’t

I agree with your general sentiment. And I’m also not necessarily against Whitt leaving, but how and when the transition happens could be critical. We don’t have much room for error like USC, Florida, Auburn, etc.

Why can’t there be an Urban Meyer waiting to come to Utah?

I cited Prince based on what I thought your previous post was referring to: what happened with the coach who took over the first time Snyder stepped down?
Yes, anything other than what happens is speculation. And anything that might happen in the future is based on subjective probability and nothing more.
I feel like I keep having to repeat…[Read more]

Watching them convert 4th downs, successfully faking on a FG, scoring TDs with a seemingly mediocre QB.. all of it and any of it, is making me sick to my stomach. Oh, and UCF’s starting QB got hurt on their 1st drive, so it’s only matter of how many points they win by..

The system is one thing. The playcalling, making pee wee league level adjustments when a defense is stacking the box and utilizing your talent is another. I expect Bajakian to at least do those things.

Which is infuriating. Why do other teams make offens look so easy?

I agree. The playbook will be the same or even simplified. However, what I’m looking for is how / when plays are called. I’m hoping for improvements in our plays being not as predictable and overall flow of the offense.

What to watch for: running up the middle against a stacked box on 3rd and 8.

I hate to disappoint you but it’s gonna be more off the same we’ve seen up to this point in the season.
The team has been practicing one systems for years they can’t overhaul it in a few days.
I expect little to no difference in play calling from Ludwig to Baja

RUUTES replied to the topic The one common denominator is Kyle Whittingham in the forum Football 7 months, 3 weeks ago
To be fair, the HC is the common denominator for whatever happens on every team…and every HC can be seen has being the source of every issue if they are around long enough. Seems like the only way to avoid being the common denominator would be to leave halfway through the season.
None of which is a defense of Kyle’s decisions about Cam this…[Read more]

agreed but that’s a mighty big IF at this point. IF we had a lot it would have created a redzone offense. But we apparently have none of those things…so far.
