  • They already have. Plus they got a 4 star last year, and are in on another this year if he hasn’t already committed. Oregon is well stocked at QB which is why I don’t think that would be a good place for Wilson to go should he move on.

Oregon is a school that doesn’t get themselves a starter and then stop recruiting the position because it…[Read more]

Playcalling was part of the issue against UA. We went away from the short pass game and run game, for that matter, early. Dug ourselves into a hole because of RZ ineptitude and went away from both.

  • If you want the other team to stop blitzing, all you have to do is burn them a couple of times. Identify the likely blitzer pre-snap and call for a hot read in the spot he vacated. Call plays designed to take advantage of an overaggressive defense. Quick passes to the edges to force the D to quit loading the box. In fact, if you want a master…[Read more]

That’s a low blow Champ. Bottom line he wasn’t healthy enough to play. Cam felt the pressure to play and hoped he could gut it out. The injured leg was a nail in the coffin. We don’t know the extent of the injury but you know it’s bad. Out indefinitely or season ending?

Seniors? LOL…he’ll be Dr. Rising by the time he leaves Utah.

I have a pair of Under Armour Utah Utes branded running shoes and I never wear them because they’re so uncomfortable.

  • 2008 National Champ replied to the topic Snake bitten in the forum Football 8 months ago

Selfishly, I want Rising to go out in style. Kind of like those kids games where they bring in a kid in a wheelchair and everyone gets out of the way so that he can score a TD. Everyone is in on it, everyone cheers but no one takes it seriously.

If you send him in before the game is over but he can’t influence the outcome, he can have his…[Read more]

Also, I’ll clarify that I’m obviously not arguing that the coaching staff hasn’t made some of the biggest head-scratching mistakes you’ve ever seen in the last couple of weeks.

But you’re telling me that Isaac’s parents are communicating to and confiding in an 18-year-old how they’re feeling about the team that their son is currently playing for…[Read more]

That’s a reach. Tuttle didn’t even get any playing time before he left. Hell, he left in mid-season.

  • Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Players only meeting? in the forum Football 8 months ago

A players only meeting would be time to air out any issues players are having with schemes coaching and how to move forward. Team leaders will relay the message to coaches.

I think the only issue the players might have with Cam is the long leash he was given Friday. The offense played well but Cam couldn’t deliver. If I was on offense or d…[Read more]

  • I think they already had one. Whether that results in further stratification of the team or a new focus will probably be evidenced the first time they try to respond to adversity.

Other’s have said it better than I so I’m not trying to be profound, but what we are seeing right now is the worst case scenario of tying your fortunes to one…[Read more]

  • WTF am I talking about? Cam had a good game versus a bad G5 outfit (wow, imagine that) and a mediocre half (8-14 for 92 yards) against probably the worst team in the Big XII (Baylor). That WTF I’m talking about. If Cam’s performance versus Baylor sold you as a fan that he was “back”, then I can’t help you.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were a little frustrated and second guessing some things, but this seems overblown to me. The Wilson family wasn’t even expecting Isaac to play this year. You’re telling me they’re mad that he had to play against Oklahoma State and Arizona? No way. Isaac himself has said, “I prepare to play every week as if I am…[Read more]

  • It’s not ludicrous. I do believe that the talent is there to still accomplish everything the team wanted this season which is to get to the CCG and play their way into the playoff. But it’s going to require what should have been done prior to the USU game, and absolutely should have been done in 2023, which is tailor the damn offense for the…[Read more]

Possibly they agreed that as a unit, they are playing well below their talent and abilities and it’s time they stopped feeling sorry for themselves about injuries, tough decisions by the officials, and results just not going as we expected heading into the season, and that it is time to buckle up and play harder and better.

  • Saban’s greatness – other than leaving Miami for Alabama at exactly the right time – was in surrounding himself with accomplished people who were not interested in lifetime positions. Every year, half his staff took promotions elsewhere and he brought in proven coaches looking to restart their careers or up and comers hungry to prove themselves…[Read more]

I wasn’t there. They could’ve talked about ice cream. But if we make a few educated guesses we can come away with a few safe bets. For example. One safe bet for a topic of conversation is quarterbacks.
